That's a crock of shit. I smoked pot everyday for a year, while maintaining a job mind you, bought a house, fixed it up and quit my actual addiction, cigarettes. Then I decided to just quit one day and did... Put it all behind me and guess what, it wasn't hard at all. Quitting cigarettes was. It was very very hard to quit cigarettes and I gauramtee If I did get the flu i probably would never have smoking cigarettes. Pot kills one, it has far more benefits than tobacco or alcohol and none of the bad side effects. And this isn't an isolated case. My friends all smoke pot on a daily basis and all of them decent tax paying citizens and contributors to society.

It's a scam for the government to make a profit. Don't you think it's a little wrong that a pedophile fresh out of prison can apply for a federal grant but a person convicted of possession of any amount of marijuana can't? How do you know those individuals are not that way by nature? Do lazy, unproductive, and psychologically crippled individuals not exist in this world absent use of marijuana? We both know the answer to that, so how can you logically conclude marijuana makes people that way? You are investing in a stereotype.... Correlation does not equal causation...

I smoke a little bit every day and I'm college educated and have held a steady corporate job for the last 5+ years.... Some of my friends, also college educated, toke as well - one is a teacher, one works in the health care industry, another works for Goldman Sachs (sp?) as a financial analyst.... We are tax paying citizens who don't commit crimes and do not create any burden on society, why are we not free to do with our bodies as we please as long as we're not hurting others or putting others in danger?

Actually, weed now a days is more addictive and is different than it used to be due to advances in growing it and higher THC content. It's still an amazing relaxant and has some medicinal value to it.
