I have to agree. Not a big fan of potheads, but the unnecessary weight it is putting on our prison system is quite intense. I would like to see that prison space used for real criminals. Pedophiles, rapists, murderers, etc.......

It shouldn't even be an issue of law!

It is not the domain of any government to make laws that create vicinity where if the law didn't exist there would be no victims.

Criminalizing marijuana put's the business in the hands of criminals , causes related crime and violence, and makes harmless use of a harmless and beneficial drug a crime. It is absolutely ridiculous that we have allowed corporations such as Du Pont and the Hearst media to leverage congress to put marijuana on a federal schedule of narcotics. It's not a narcotic and anyone who says otherwise is a fucking moron.

I am reminded of a time when I was teenager and I was out with the evening with some friends. Our intent was to 'score' some weed and go fishing and have a good time. We couldn't find any, bought whiskey instead from a jue store and ended up in jail. I lost my driver license automatically for being underage dwi. If we'd scored the weed, nothing would have happened.

exactly , there was nothing in the USA constitution which gave the federal government the power to decide what people put in their bodies. They stole personal freedoms of choice like this slowly through morality campaigns and propaganda. Marijuana becoming illegal and the federal drug act was a slow evolution taking nearly 50 years. The people cheered all the way to the slaughterhouses of their freedom . Hearst owned a lot of lumber interest , the Big pharma interests, and lets not forget terrorizing minorities and keeping them damn Mexicans in line, and the oil industry ; these are among some of the motivations for big government to steal your right to choice what goes in your own damn
body; making a natural remedy and extremely non-toxic recreational drug like marijuana illegal. Just look how industrial hemp got coat-tailed into being illegal. This was not on "accident "

Not to mention the over 30 TRILLION dollars the USA alone has spent fighting marijuana just since the creation of the drug Czars
