ender's game is the best military sci fi novel rivaling starship troopers

Could you tell us what it's about, even if you only copy and paste the blurb as I need a good book to read

Yes, I read it and loved it.

small children are chosen for their stratigic apptitude and for leadership. they are pitted against each other in a sat. called battle school. It is much like lazer quest. or other lazer tag games. they are tested at every turn and judged by every choice. one stands above the rest because he is utterally ruthless when faced with life or death issues. they are fighting a war of extinction with the buggers. ender becomes the master of the game but it takes a little boy named bean to finish the games for him. that is a better synopsis I just wrote than you will find. the series is a good read but ender's game is the best of all. orson scott card is a master of the micro but has a looser grasp of the macro which prevailes in other books in the series. I hope this answers your questions.

Fantastic book! This is one they need to do animated, that's the only way to do it justice. This and King's Gunslinger Saga.

Enders game and the shadows series. I read them all. Orson Scott Card is one of my favorite writers. The book The Empire, kind of has a feel with whats going own now; RED State Blue State.

we always hold our books to our chest. (huh huh I said chest) but enders game would be very easy to do right. unless they have an agenda. now the movie about george rr martins series they could really mess up as well as robert jordan's wheel of time but I think if they really tried thy could really do ender's game right. they really did the same thing with kurt russells soldier just conceintrated on the physical. I'm at that age. the women thinking the grass is greener. I'm kinda mysterious I show up every couple years at home and I'm kinda busy the rest. (the last couple lines for the convo with tess)

they HAVE to do it live action if they do it animi it will be like dorsai. languashing for fn ever in obscurity. thy should do dorsai live action also

I get recognized in the bars and stuff but I don't really go out much. so what were we really talking about any way. I mean you and me. ender's game blah blah blah. I love the book and love the idea of the movie but I started the thread to talk to you...

so I got to talk about the book or you won't talk to me? I love the way bean dodges the psycological game by refusing to play. in many ways I identify with bean more than ender. I mean I had bullies when I was a kid and I never killed them. the game to bean is to obvious. they have to play a deeper game with him and litterally no one is qualified in the whole world to play mind games with bean. I've been in some tough places by now and I didn't think I was coming home. I wish I could set up someplace and just be bean.....

she's almost like 14 and her dad is 29. I filled in as dad for a couple of years. he just couldn't handle... I'm just about at my ropes in I have women in KC and Shreveport and Tyler and they all think of me like six flags. you know you like to visit but you wouldn't want to live there. I used to have more girls than I could count... now I'm alone and they are all married. (except the girls that think I'm a roller coaster) Your married I bet you could think of a couple of guys like me... just exotic and masculine to make your man look like a wuss but he comes home every night and the kids... and guys like me just don't compare really. I leave out again in a couple of days. I'll post something I'll think you'll respond too...

all I really have to do is stay out of the bars. no one knows where I live... on purpose. they hate me at the bars they can't figure out if I'm a really bad guy they should be scared of or a really good guy they should be scared of...

they must do the gunslinger live action. you must be an animi freak. nothing serious is ever done animi. if they do the gunslinger live action it will rank up there with blade runner and other cult classics but if they do it animi only guys who live in their mom's basement we'll ever see it

Orson Scott Card is one of my favorite writers. The Enders series in a whole is amazing. I actually have a signed copy of the original, but I think my favorite might be Shadow of Ender where Bean gets big with giganticism and a lot of genetic discussion. Card is phenomenal at integrating our existence into his fictional worlds, but expanding things like politics, military maneuvering, and religion to function on a massive, universal scale. Would gladly discuss these books with you OP, good taste.

One of the best SF books I've ever read. I'd heard they were making a movie of it, but that was a few years back. Haven't heard anything since.

Ah yes Orson Scott Card. It was the first book besides White Fang that my mom bought for me to read. 6th grade and it was definitely a good read. Speaker for the Dead also interesting, Children of the Mind a little more esoteric and thats where i left off.
