Well, now I see why they might have yanked it. It makes me wonder what it looked like all this time it's been down, assuming it got crazy so they yanked it, that is.

Anyone notice the increse in occurance of massive earthquakes arounf the world? So far this year we have 3-4, depending on how you take as a large earthquake. Haiti. Then Taiwan. Then Chile. Then Southern China. All except haiti have been above 7.5 on the richter scale. Is it possible this sudden increase is realeasing some of the earths pressure underneath yellowstone?

hi everyone-my name is mike and i live in tennessee and have been watching the madison river area now for some time,
i've been hopeing the siesmograph data was being created by somthing eles because the activity on these graphs for the past year have been getting worse and worse as time goes by -for the past year, this activity is absolutly not a normal back ground activity for a volcano thats suppose to be inactive or dorment. these graphs are clearly graphs showing a volcano thats active or on the verge of becoming active. it's very clear -you can go research how to read these graphs your self and see what I mean. this will be an exstinction even if this volcano blows, if it's a pyroclastic exsplosion- if it's just magma making it to the surface and then flowing it could be not such a bad deal but from looking at the history of yellowstone it will be an exsplosion of magma and ash cloud. meaning that in the first day of the eruption everyone west of the missippi lives will be in imminate danger. everyone not in an air tight underground bunker in a radius of up to 600 miles from the volcano will be dead in the first 12 hours.- ash will fall all across the globe but mostly in the united states and canida. ash is 7 times the wieght of snow one foot of ash would be equal to 7 feet of snow, meaning all structures with more than about 3 feet of ash on them will be crushed. then comes what happens when ash gets satutrated with rain. the event we are faced with that is comming in my opinion is comming soon and we have these signs now for good reason, the mother earth or god or just luck what ever you choose to beleve is telling us to prepare. only those of us in this country that take the initiative to get them selfs and their families ready will survive. right now i'm begining a project where i live to be ready for this. and I suggest anyone eles that understands what the differents between real science and just hyped up talk to do the same because the siesmographs I think arn't incorrect and the reports from the native indians on the area that say they smell sulfer and see the animals leaving arn't incorrect ether. you must understand the goverment isn't going to help us survive the way we want they might want to take control of your life and make you a slave for there selfs and this goes for the super wealthy also. you are going to have to do it your self and now is the time to do. if it's not to late already.

If my memory serves me correctly, Bob Smith seemed to indicsate rather recently that he thinks it's awakening again and predicted a possible small eruption or hydrotherml event. However, the same Utah quakes that have his attention in addition to the activities at YS the past few years, lead me to guess that it will be a bigger event if it gets going. The reason I personally (I'm not a scientist) think that is that if there is enough activity to cause disturbances for hundreds of miles in a couple directions then there is more than a minor build up going on here. Right now we are not seeing tremendous surface deformation because there is still room in underground for expansion but when that is finally maximized then we will start to see more at the surface, imho.
Now obviously, I might be completely wrong and that is 100% fine with me. I don't always want to be right on everything, nor do I have to.

The Madison River activity starts at about 8am every day and ends at 5-6PM. Human traffic in a heavy tourist area. The other activity on other stations is likely wind noise. Once a day, there seems to be a regular jolt seen on all stations, stronger in the east... That's blasting from nearby mines.

Wind.

I've never seen human activity look like that, ever, especially when the graph is set so high.

Besides, most of the activity in the southern part of the park, not the northern part.

Instead of being a total jerkoff idiot, just go back and look at the data... I did in January and I realized that every day at that station, a discernible pattern of activity with a recognizable signature occurred every day starting and ending at the same time. That pattern (probably buses or cars or a combination thereof) is what is happening on that graph. Now whereas in January, it is likely that tourism was confined to 8AM and 6PM because of the very cold weather, it's likely that in the heat of summer and at the peak of tourist season, you're seeing more traffic at off times. But don't be such a dink. Don't be so lazy. The answer is YES, that is what makes that station's seismograph register. Does every day and if you go back months, years and decades (as I did because I'm not a lazy idiot,) you'll see that it has constantly for that entire period of time.

SO STOP!

I think what they have here is a malfunctioning sizemo..they do this sometimes when they need adjustment.
Yellowstone is fairly quiet right now compared to past episodes, i wouldnt worry about it too much ...yet.
