TEXAS Tornado Canton area east of Dallas
A Tornado has caused widespread damage in multiple areas across the small town of Canton which is about 30-40 miles east of Dallas. It has been in 70's every day this week here in DFW area and this morning there were warnings of severe storms forming this afternoon as the storm system from west coast comes into this region, moving eastwards.

I-20 is closed going both east & west because the tornado went across it & there are power lines down + debris scattered about ....

All local TV stations are now covering this story and Channel 8 ABC is doing live coverage from helicopter over the I-20 scene ...... reporter saying the storm cell has moved eastwards about 20 miles away & is still looking fierce from their observations.

Now there are reports of tennis-ball size hail in that storm that's formed just east of the tornado zone & also high winds but at this time no tornado ciculation being seen on radar. More heavy storms in line going up north in southern Oklahoma (southeastern quadrant of Oklahoma + northeast Texas).

On phone now with Channel 8 reporter live is the Sherriff for that county .... he is saying also there is way more damage than what is being shown on TV live at the I-20 area where 18-wheeler has been blown over, several businesses hit with roofs off, etc.

They are talking about Grand Saline & an area called "Van" - they also have been hit.

He - sherriff - says there are numerous areas of damage being reported throughout the entire region (Van Zandt County) and several houses have been hit in the Canton area + more houses are supposedly damaged in the northern part of the county .... unknown if injuries because so many trees & phone poles are down across local roads everwhere in the area and rescuers cannot reach people that are calling 9-11 for emergency assistance. Since the EMS responders cannot get through to answer calls, they are not clear about injuries as things are very chaotic at this time. It is now getting dark here too and the roads are slick from rain & hail ,,,, fuel spill there at the I-20 scene needing to be dealt with also.
