Toyota recalls 2.3M US vehicles to fix gas pedals
I don't care if the gubbmint owns GM...I LOVE my GM cars and their mechanicals... I have not owned a GM vehicle in 15 years that hasn't gone 220K + miles and was still running when I sold it! Fact is that most idiot car buyers don't even know how to tune up a vehicle (Stupid Toyota owners)... GM, Ford and Chrysler die hards do...and they don't buy foreign because they KNOW the difference between US engineering and foreign CRAP! It may be produced all over the world...but most design engineering work is in the US - FACT!!!!!!!!!

Also...IN FACT...my girlfriend owned a 2005 Toyota RAV 4...damn thing got about 17 MPG from an over-revved four cylinder and burned a quart of oil a month!!!! Stunk like oil on the highway too! Traded stupid thing in @ 45K miles for a GM Tailblazer that drives like a Cadillac... MUCH MUCH better vehicle IMHO and gets 25MPG with 260HP!! GO FIGURE! Pulls my boat without so much as breathing hard!

Toyota sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIMKY to their latest debacle (and there are many nore): [link to news.yahoo.com]

Re: Toyota recalls 2.3M US vehicles to fix gas pedals
Floormat my azz. They're running fireballs!

The recall affects the 2009-2010 RAV4, the 2009-2010 Corolla, the 2009-2010 Matrix, the 2005-2010 Avalon, the 2007-2010 Camry, the 2010 Highlander, the 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2008-2010 Sequoia.

The latest move comes just months after Toyota Motor Corp. recalled 4.2 million vehicles over concerns that accelerator pedals could become lodged under floor mats, causing sudden acceleration. That problem was blamed for several crashes, including an accident involving a Lexus that accelerated to more than 120 mph before crashing in San Diego, killing four people.

By the lack of responses so far, my point is all but proven! Toyota isn't better because of anything mechanical....it is an illusion perpetrated on us by whoever is the mouthpiece of the day. The American public has become BRAINWASHED by propoganda that Foreign products are better than our own... Now there is a CONSIPARACY folks! WAKE THE FUCK UP AMERICA AMD SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY!

I have a 99 Toyota Corolla with 300,000 clicks and have never had to do a single repair.

I would never buy shitty American cars that are designed to be replaced after 10 years.

Planned Obsolescence -- worst idea ever.

You are full of shit. All engines require maintenance at some point. Quit it with your bullshit and tell it like it is. There is not a sparkplug designed today (for instance) that can go that long. Your car HAS BEEN in the shop asshole! Because I am sure you didn't know how to change it yourself!

Like any make, they have their supporters and their detractors.

I'm a currently a FORD guy myself, started on GM years ago, I've had Mopars also, and they're all mostly really decent vehicles.

I've only owned two japanese vehicles, and I was NOT IMPRESSED at all. Tiny, cramped, and built like tin cans.

Lately I have a MAJOR political thing against GM for killing Olds and Pontiac.

I'll never buy another one. Good riddence if they go under too!

FORD all the way!

I can respect your opinion, though I still like GM mechanicals better than Ford. At least you are buying products made by a US firm. I also agree with your assessment on the foreign cars...they still are tinny and UNDERPOWERED! I test drove an Avalon...just to see what I was supposedly missing. It was a DOG! Slow, unresponsive, and UGLY! I know my shit about mechanics, and this was NOT a car that I would put in my garage!

Stupid Toyota owners...just keep buying foreign because some mouthpiece in MSM says they are better. Just wait and see what kind of economy we have left. This has been the "Fleecing of America" by those who wish to destroy it and you foreign car owners who can't think for yourselves LET IT HAPPEN!!! Take a class on mechanics for pete's sake! Foreign car owners = SHEEP and have helped to GIVE this country away. America was great...now I have NOTHING left to give my children. Fuckheads!!!!!
