Quoting: freespiritThat's why the roof of the Denver airport is made of kevlar tents!!! To bounce off any rocks that blast out of yellowstone! [link to www.sti.nasa.gov] I have been pondering why they chose to build an expensive roof system like that and now I think I know why. |

Thanks OP...didn't know about the kevlar tents. Very interesting. How dumb do they think we are? Looks like something major's gonna go down soon. |

Oh!, is that how it works? Injected Fear (like History Channels Yellowstone Supervolcano) = Power, Longevity & Fresh Financing? Yawn... |

Quoting: freespiritLets say they know something is up with the volcano, as far as the monitoring equipment getting there right before the swarm i think that was a coincidence. The reason they requested the new monitoring equipment is number one.. there is increased activity at Yellowstone and they know it, and number two.. some of their equipment is outdated and in need of repair. Good way to monitor an erupting super volcano, by broadcasting it around the world..live. Of course they are doing this because if it erupts there is a good chance that they will be vaporized because of their proximity to the caldera and they want the world to have first hand knowledge of how a super volcano behaves before an eruption. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 742855 United States 01/23/2010 06:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I also suspect that the giant poles that hold up these kevlar tent structures are actually more or less lightening rods to ground out and EMPs coming from CMEs of the sun. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 822837The only way to stop an huge EMP is to ground out the entire facility with giant grounding rods plunged deep into the Earth. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 742855 United States 01/23/2010 06:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One mistaken idea is that EMP is like a powerful bolt of lightning. While the two are alike in their end results--burning out electrical equipment with intense electronic surges--EMP is actually more akin to a super-powerful radio wave. Thus, strategies based on using lightning arrestors or lightning-rod grounding techniques are destined to failure in protecting equipment from EMP. |
