Quoting: freeoneBeing intellectually and emotionally atrophied as of late, I have been leaving my electric oven on to generate heat in my small apartment. |

Quoting: freeoneAs I indicated in my initial post, I reside in a small, one bedroom apartment. Sparingly, when it is "freezing cold" I will turn on my electric oven and lower the door to heat my living room. I place the dial on 500 degrees for 15-20 minutes until sufficiently warm. At which point, it is turned off. |

The IRS accepted the return on January 18, 2010. And now, I received the direct deposit today, January 26, 2010. |

Which I will need to place in a safe place for the sole purpose of my work hours being cut and having to supplement a pay check. The typical strategy every god damn year. |

I have friends who are laid off and less hrs. Good luck |

FUCKING MONSTERS. An oven is not an efficient way to heat an apartment, get yourself a spaceheater if you want electric heat, they don't cost much at Target. Also, there are billions of dollars available for heating aid from the government, whether you use gas or electric. Super easy to apply for, you don't have to talk to anybody, for just the cost of a stamp the feds have paid about $300 a year for my heating bill. If the money is out there and you need, you might as well take advantage of it. |
