how many here have native american blood?

My great-grandmother was Choctaw, and she hated the Cherokee with a passion. She said they were nothing but thieves, murderers and rapist.

I'm Melungeon, have a native name and look native but actually have more black than native in me. I always thought I was plain white until a few years ago when I started doing genealogy and found out my ancestors were a real mix! Lots of free women of color moving out to Ohio to get away from the bullshit, and to find decent white men, lol.

I do have one line that supposedly goes back to Pocahontas' sister, but my closest native link is 7 generation back - not much native blood to speak of.

But I'd guess almost everyone from America has a smidgen of native blood unless they just moved here in the past couple of generations. It's what makes us all so beautiful.

had a scottish ancestor who came in on the Mayflower and supposedly ran the liquor establishment in town, so there's also scottish, irish, english, french, german, hebrew, italian. lotsa time for mingling on this here continent.

feel pretty native american though, that's the heritage i appreciate most... especially after taking peyote :D

Why is it always the Scotch running alcohol? My husbands side are Scottish and they all drank a lot.

i just found out that my mom's dad's mom's dad was american indian. i have an aunt even getting a monthly pension because of it.

1/16 Blackfoot, I have no cultural connection though. I grew up hundreds of miles from Eastern Iowa.

German/French/Dutch/English/Italian/Scottish/Cherokee-Osage/w​hatever tribe the early Virginia Native American's were (can never remember how to spell it)/then that "P" tribe that was called the white tribe around the Missouri/Illinois area.

So European w/3 different Native American lines (but far back, 1 in 1600's, 1 in 1700's, 1 in 1800's). It was all the men marrying Native American women too :) An English guy married one (Virgina), a French guy married one (the "P" tribe) and the Scottish guy married the Cherokee/Osage gal.

I'll tell yeah those European men sure liked the Native American women :)

P.S. I actually have more than 3 lines obviously, I just know the three that produced me (before they diluted marrying the European guys).

I am fairly certain there is no native blood on my mom's side. Grandparents came from Sweden and Ireland to NYC in the early 1900's.

My father claimed to have Sioux blood but then again he also claimed that Czar Nikolas of Russia had his treasure buried across the street in the neighbors yard.

This was interesting! I do share some of the physical traits and my surname is listed.

1/32 Cherokee, one dose of Blackfoot on each side, and part Sioux as well.

But mostly I'm Irish (1/16).

Im 1/16 some indian shit so yea!
