While I in no way condone this waste of money, I do have a question.

Since you're so keen to key in on this figure, perhaps you could tell me how much others either are spending, of have spent in the past?

The cost means nothing to me if I don't have anything to compare it against.
 Quoting: Art Deco

My strongest objection to any of it is that she is on the list of top 10 corrupt politicians. She is on the list due to a feeling of entitlement.

I want any and all of the top ten corrupt politicians out of office.

How can any corrupt much less the top 10 corrupt politician be good for the people? I can't support any politician that isn't good for the population.

Know what I mean?

"Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said today. "And these documents suggest the Speaker's congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else."

Pelosi, D-Calif., who joined President Obama on a list of Top 10 corrupt politicians, was added to that list for her "sense of entitlement," Judicial Watch said when the "honors" were announced not long ago.

Jeesh...I need to check over my posts before sending them out. *laugh*

Instead of:
How can any corrupt much less the top 10 corrupt politician be good for the people? I can't support any politician that isn't good for the population.

This:

How can any corrupt, much less the top 10 corrupt, politicians be good for the people? I can't support any politician that isn't good for the population. Or good for "the greater good of the people".

This is the basic liberal fall back argument when a liberal cant defend the actions of his leaders.

They go back as far as the crusades to find an example of someone who was worse and say that what their guy did is somehow canceled out because some conservative fucked a goat in 1787.
 Quoting: PACNWguy

You'll notice not only did I not make a defense for this ridiculous spending, but I said that in my very first sentence,

This is what someone does when they either can't answer the question, or won't because the full facts won't support their argument.

It's called deflection. It doesn't answer the question, it just tries to more the debate away from an indefensible position.

Nice try, too bad it didn't work.

And this is what people do when they can't answer a simple question without losing the argument, they shift the argument again, from deflection to name calling, and reversal of blame.

What am I doing? I asked a question, which apparently nobody wants to answer, which makes me wonder why.

I'm not the one refusing to answer the question.

One thing I noticed while watching the State of The Union Address was how nicely everyone was dressed. There wasn't a $200 Menswarehouse suit in the entire joint, and probably very few $800 Brooks Brothers suits. They were all expensive, probably thousands of dollars, hand-sewn custom suits. The congresswomen were similarly dressed.

It just shows how out of touch these people are with the majority of middle-class Americans. They can afford to spend thousands on one suit, probably not even aware that for most of us, a $200 suit is a very nice expenditure. We see this attitude everywhere. Thousands of dollars in snacks and booze, $500 a plate fancy meals.

They're all a bunch of wealthy buffoons, with no idea what it's like to be living on a modest wage in America. These are the people that are supposed to be representing our interests? I'm sure they can't even begin to understand what its like for most of us.

Me thinks its time for them to work from their states instead of DC. Would surly save money and make them more accessible to the people.

Weren't they originally supposed to work from their home states and travel to the capitol a few times a year to take care of the federal biz?
