Look up 'The Bookcliffs'. It is a large east/west mountain range from central Utah to Western Colorado.
Seashells are all over the base (4500'). But I have found them up to 6000' feet while hiking. Just north of Grand Junction Co.
Whewwww...6,000 feet is doable...I am good up to 10K
