What elevation do you find these non petrified shells at? Look up 'The Bookcliffs'. It is a large east/west mountain range from central Utah to Western Colorado. Seashells are all over the base (4500'). But I have found them up to 6000' feet while hiking. Just north of Grand Junction Co. |

If a huge wave gets sucked out of the pacific, when it hit Asia there will be a huge back wave that comes back towards the US...maybe that's how the shells get on the other side. |

I've been looking at the geography of my local area for a while. It seems like the Pacific comes out, and all the way up to around the continental divide. Maybe a little short. Then the water sloshes around a few times in what geologists call, 'The great basin'. Creating things like the Utah Arches and the Grand Canyon. If it (water) is doing that here. The rest of the world must be pretty bad as well. Of course it is all pure amature speculation on my part. Like I said earlier, I will err on the side of caution. I'd like to also be above 10,000'. |

The grand Canyon could be caused by a massive lahar. Flash floods from snow melt are going to be a huge concern. That shit could come rumbling down the side of a mountain as 50MPH like a train made of trees, rocks, and whole trains themselves. |

A huge area was circled from the ocean at the NW top of Canada all the way throughout the Eastern Rockies and Great Plains of the US. I believe this was where remains had been found with connection to water having been in the area. I am supposed to be working, so I don't have time to go back and look...am just peeking in at the conversation as I can. |

Also a concern of mine. If I go hole up in the mountains. Getting down will be difficult. A town like Vail is easily accessible now. Being on I-70, but a few mudslides and the road washes away. Some of the other towns (Gunnison, Telluride, Aspen) are situated in canyons, valleys and will be near inaccessible. I am excluding the big cities (Denver and the Springs) as I feel they will be death traps. |
