He's cherry-picked earthquake dates and magnitudes to fit his theory, added in a hefty margin of error, and basically boken just about every rule of proper statistical analysis. Given that he's selling books, DVD's etc. based on this, one might be a little suspicious that he knows exactly what he's doing with the data...

It's already been pointed out that you can use the same approach to find just about any pattern you want - 123 days, 99 days, 200 days, pick a number. How is his (now failed) 188 day pattern any better than any other?

If there were a really obvous pattern to earthquakes, don't you think geologists and siesmologists, who spend their whole lives looking at this, would have noticed?

Take a look at - [link to 3.bp.blogspot.com] (from - [link to astroblogger.blogspot.co.uk] which clearly shows there is no pattern to earthquakes. The same techniques applied to sunspot data shows the solar cycle very clearly...
