I have several computers. You are welcome to one (free). You will need to buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse though.

why not buy a netbook comp from wal-mart they are cheap and work great under 375 cdn

ya but with those rent to own places they know how to rape the consumer. This way she owns the system 1 time cost and set to go! I'm just trying to help a net friend here

dang that sux. the cost of living these days is destroying us. you have to decide whether you will eat or pay a bill. I am sorry to hear about your computer going back. In the meantime. if the library aint too far away you can go there and go online.

go to freecycle.com people give computers away on there all the time. it is where i got my desktop computer before i got this one. you have to have a yahoo email address though.

If i still had the old computer i would send it to you but a virus took it out. I am making sure i have virus protection updated on my new one.

freecycle is awesome. i got two boats a boat trailer, a microwave, a computer things too numerous to name. try it you will see.

they email you whenever something comes up to be give away in your community. you have to respond fast though. I think some people do nothing but sit and wait for something to get posted. maybe your area the people want be so greedy.

OK....so times are hard, I understand. But, everyone has an envelope, a sheet of paper, a stamp and a quarter. All of these items total well under $1.
We can start a "chain thread" and if 1000-2000 people on glp respond, that's $250-$500 towards a computer for her. And we can continue this to help others through these difficult times.

Renting anything is a scam. It's what poor people do. The only time I don't beat someone up for renting is if they are renting a cheap place to live while they save and pay cash for a house.

Actually there are a few other things that are smart to rent instead of owning like: Boats,planes,and pussy.

no thanks. she can get a part time job at mickey d's for a few weeks and save up a few hundred bucks. it will be much less effort for all and make her feel like she has actually accomplished something.

of course, that's assuming a laptop is her top priority since losing her job. and maybe this time she'll be smart enough not to rent and end up paying $5000 for a $500 computer.

Hopefully you might be able to pick up a good working desktop (regular computer - oh I forget what to really call them right now)

For cheap.

I got one from Boeing surplus for 25 bucks that has worked for me now for years.

The monitors were the most expensive part, as I wanted really good dual flat screens.

But you can always pick up one of those old tube-style monitors for free, just to get by.

People have to pay to get rid of those nowadays!

just keep it. They cant repo it and it would be to costly to sue you for it.

Most likely they will just walk away. Might hurt your credit.

I offered her one. FOR FREE Even offered to get it to her.

It's an older one and not a laptop. Not the greatest computer, but hardworking and FREE.

She said she didn't want it because it didn't have WIFI.

Well, for $20 she could have a modem that would work, but she refused.
