I put my dog to sleep today

My advice is celebrate the lifetime of wonderful experiences and unconditional love that your pup surely gave you, and hopefully you to him. As we will all surely come to know, there is a better place than just hanging on in a broken down state at our end of days.

I'm so very sorry. My dog also has cancer. You answered your dog's prayers. God grant me the strength to do the same for my dog, when the time comes.

Terrible thing to lose a dog. Just know that you gave him the best life you could and that is all a dog really wants. A nice loving family.

I am crying.

I have lost 3 dogs that were part of the family.

No one can replace them.

We lost our last golden 2 years ago, we hopefully have a new puppy coming in 3 months.

australian shepard. his breed are known to herd sheep, he would herd the children in the family away from the streets and stairs and other sorts of danger. it was sweet

my shephard/lab mix does the same thing. And it's her time to pass on very soon. She's in pain and I can't bear that any longer.

I think we all know how you feel, they're your perpetual children, they may piss you off once in a while but they never let you down. Also they never learn a language so they can never talk back at you, just pee in your shoes. Good luck OP.

So, So very sorry. I have had to three times in my life and it is hard. Your wonderful companion is at peace. People say time heals and I suppose it does. And you will always have the grat memories. I now have two dogs and most likely will have dogs the rest of my life. You can not beat the unconditional love they give.

Sorry for your loss, but please don't take the attitude of not getting another pet, there is another furry friend out there that needs you, go to the shelter as soon as you can and make another animal happy please.
