SIDS, as far as I know, is not well understood. Just a day after I read that studies are showing antidepressants to be as effective as a sugar pill I find this story on SIDS babies being low on serotonin. Video states they'd like to develop a test for babies to see if they are at risk. I mean they already prescribe antidepressants off-label for any number of real or imagined conditions. Anyway, I can see them developing a test and prescribing drugs. I could see them claiming ssri's are a fix just to keep the market strong. Or creating a new drug that's only marginally different so they can call it something else and market it.
I'm not claiming I'm right, but I'd like to hear what people here think. Possibly another money grab in the making I guess. Or I'm just paranoid.
