HELL: Why isn't the Pulpit preaching Revelation : ???Do the Christians really care about Mathew 28?
I am greived at the lack of Hell and Revelation not being preached from the pulpit, especially in these obvious End Time days - the gospel is being watered down. Read 1 Peter christians, if you dare.

I am OVER being silent about this - I am DISGUSTED that so many of us who PROFESS to love and serve God are so apathetic about being passionate for Christ.

Much of Today's Preaching

I am so sick of the Satanic, twisted, watered down gospel that men are preaching from the pulpits across this land.

Men preach as if it were a game. They tell their cute little jokes as if men were not going to hell right under their noses. Men like Joel Esteen spew the crap right out of their mouths that convince thousands that they are OK, when they are far from OK!

Truth has fallen in the streets and the ears of the multitudes are being tickled by these spiritual eunuchs who do not know the God of the bible.

If you are anywhere near one of these churches where the man standing behind the pulpit is afraid to clearly, and powerfully declare the whole counsel of God without apology, you ought to run as fast as you can away from that damnable place. These heretics from hell who preach a health and wealth gospel, an I'm OK you're OK gospel, a "just decide for Jesus" gospel...they are emissaries of Satan sent to deceive the masses. RUN FROM THAT PLACE AS IF IT WERE ON FIRE!

These pollyanna pulpiteers who have not warned you to flee from the wrath to come and they comfort you in your spiritual torment, when you know good and well that you have never been truly converted ought to be banished from the pulpit and let a preacher with backbone who will not care about position, or salary, or career, or fortune, or fame, or persecution stand there and preach the truth.

Those who love the praise of men more than the praise of God are damning souls to hell and should be run out of town until they repent of rushing into the pulpit to give their false man-centered message of hope.

There is only one message of hope and that is the message of the Christ who is the God-man, who came in the flesh, suffered on Calvary under the wrath of a holy God, for those who repent and believe, and rose victoriously from the grave to call men to take up their cross and be willing to die for the sake of the gospel.
When you truly believe that, you aren't afraid to tell men and women that the house is on fire, and they had better flee.

You aren't afraid to die for the sake of the gospel, because you know it is worth it.
You aren't afraid to declare the whole counsel of God because you really do believe that unless men repent they will perish for an eternity under the wrath of a holy God.
You aren't afraid that you won't be taken care of, because your hope is in heaven, not on this earth.
You aren't afraid to tell the truth that if you have not been radically converted by the power of the Holy Spirit of God, and if you are not absolutely a new man in Christ Jesus, because you have repented and cast your life into the hands of Jesus you are a lost man under the wrath of God, on your way to hell.
You aren't afraid to declare to your religious church members who have just "been in church all my life", that they had better flee from the wrath to come.

GOD GIVE US SOME MEN WHO WILL PREACH WITHOUT APOLOGY NO MATTER THE COST AND FILL THE PULPITS IN OUR LAND, OR FIND A PULPIT IN THE STREETS TO PREACH FROM!

Apologies about the double post.

Another Gospel?

Are the Churches of America preaching another Gospel than the one Jesus taught and the Apostles preached? Is the reality of Christ's resurrection and rulership being rejected for a Gospel of prosperity, greed and compromise. Who would have though 30 years ago that so many of the nations major denominations would be seriously debating allowing homosexual 'unions', and that some would adopt such practices as 'Church' doctrine. The reality is now that the Bible, and the risen Christ have been abandoned for the Gospel of humanism and social/political acceptance. The truth of the matter is, these denominations are no longer part of the body of Christ. They have in essence become part of the world system and actively participate in furthering the objectives of the Prince of this world. These unrepentant and publicly displayed abominations have separated these clergymen, pastors and parishioners from Christ.

There is a separation coming to pass in visible Christianity. Many christian's have left mainline denominations and are seeking out home Churches and less formal fellowship arrangements. The simple fact is, those who are truly following the commandments of Christ (not the commandments of men) see the great apostasy happening right before their eyes. They are concerned enough for their own soul to stay away from these new 'doctrines of devils' ,"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" 1 Timothy 4:1. The Scripture does not teach about a world wide 'revival', though God did promise to 'pour out his spirit on all flesh'. While a real revival amoung God's people will happen, it will only come to God's People who are in Christ. The truth of the matter is that while mainstream Christianity is looking for a revival, they have left the God who brings it.

Previously, strange doctrines were expected to be found and were largely confined to such groups as the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses, though often these strange doctrines were not openly displayed as they are in many mainline denominations today. These, and other religions attempted to hide their more anti-Christian doctrines from public view. Today it is mainstream Christianity that has been seduced by the enemy, openly displaying vices clearly condemned by the Jesus they claim to adore "If ye love me, keep my commandments"

The Mormons for example called Christianity a religion that was 'hatched in hell' (John Taylor, the Third Mormon President) . Where as the Jehovah's witnesses deny the divinity of Christ. It is interesting to note that both to these religions were started by Freemasons. (Russell for the Jehovah's Witnesses and Joseph Smith for the Mormons). Yet today, many of the largest so-called 'Christian' denominations are led by men who are Freemasons. Many well known TV evangelists with National Ministries are involved in this dark and secretive religion.

The faith once passed down to us by Jesus and the Apostles has been polluted by leaders who do not know Christ. Their agenda is something other than bringing God's little flock into the Kingdom of God. This trend really began during the 1940's and 1950's. One of the most important clergyman to influence the current trends in the Church was Teilhard de Chardin. He was a Catholic Priest who was not allowed to publish his writings by the Vatican and was treated as an Apostate. This man's work however was talked about in both Catholic and Protestant Circles and his influence is still greatly felt today. His 'Gospel' was of Humanism and 'Global Evolution'.

This Global evolution is part and parcel of the problem with the New American Gospel. Pastors and Priests are seeing themselves as more enlightened that Christ and have decided to take it upon themselves to change the essence of the Christianity they preach and profess.

This should not be a surprise to those who know their Bible. How could these things NOT happen when Christ so clearly said they would? The openly sinful acts on the part of those who use the name of Christianity is an Abomination to God. These are actions which will require and receive a response from God at the proper time. God's slowness in dealing with these charlatans is giving them space to repent of their deeds and perhaps join (or rejoin) the faith.

One doctrine that needs to be briefly discussed in the concept of 'visualization'. This is the general Idea behind some of the popular faith teachers of our time. This visualization is the root of the positive thinking and the some of the 'name it and claim it' doctrines of today. Visualization is a very ancient form of Occult science. It was practiced by the Ancient Egyptians and is the foundation for many Yoga Techniques. This doctrine as it it is taught by some purports that we can change our surroundings with the 'right mental images' or by repeating certain phrases that will magically bring about the desired results. This is how some of faith teachers of today are presenting the Gospel to their followers. By using certain mental techniques and phraseology, the novice can receive the material things that they desire, according to these teachers. Usually this is presented by using a watered down message of salvation and liberally using the name 'Jesus'. This gives the impression that the person is of God.

The doctrines of much of the Church has also been watered down with an ungodly an adulterous relationship with the state. Most people do not know that the IRS clause that the most Churches use to obtain their tax-exempt status is keeping the Church from fulfilling one of its key purposes here on Earth as a light to the world. A light meant to shine in dark places. Yet the Churches who have accepted this status from the Government are in a dangerous position, as they are now a corporation and as such are bound by certain laws that otherwise would not apply to God's flock. For example, these Churches are forbidden to oppose public policy. Public policy is considered to be things like the condition of the Public Schools or the Abortion issue and many other such issues. While some pastors will speak about such things, they will usually not do so from the pulpit or use church funds or the church name when doing so. This is the problem with being unequally yoked together with Caesar as most American Churches have done. This is not to say that every Church that has accepted this status is evil. Rather, it suggests a popular form of compromise with the the state for the sake of special tax status and the financial gain it gives without properly gauging what is being given up in return.

The question is often asked, silently: why is the church so impotent to change many of the trends in society, such as abortion, political corruption, the general acceptance of homosexuality and the like? The answer does not lie, as many have accused, with an uncaring God, but with a church that is involved deeply in each of the above mentioned sins. God expects and demands Holiness, that is separation to God, it is not an option as many in the pulpits in America suggest. This Holiness is not in wearing certain clothing and following a do's and don'ts list but in doing the commandments of God. The Church has decided by and large that those things are not relevant and thus show their contempt for Jesus. Consequently when prayers are offered to stop the flood of moral filth which engulfs our society, God does not act. But then, how can he? There is no holy Church to intercede for the Nation. A few scattered fellowships and individuals yes, but these are, by and large, not to be found in the mainline denominations. What a tragedy, for both the mainline denominations and the nation as a whole.

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"

User-Friendly Churches = Watered down Gospel??
August 25th, 2007

[link to www.unworthysaints.com]

There has been much talk in recent years about “Seeker-Sensitive” and “User Friendly churches“…but at what cost?

See this link to an article by Pastor John MacArthur as he touches on What’s Wrong with “User-Friendly” Churches.

It is reminiscent of 2 Timothy 4:3-4 ,”For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” This isn’t to say that ALL big or “Mega” churches are wrong, corrupt, or not preaching and teaching the whole council of Gods word. But it may be fair to say that many have replaced the centrality of Gods word for programs that keep their congregations busy with activities throughout the week, and off the mission field that surrounds their home.

The church cannot be effective in fulfilling its mandate of “equipping the saints for the work of the ministry” if it is focused on softening the whole truth of Gods word so it won’t offend anyone – particularly unbelievers.
When the men that fill Gods pulpit, refuse to preach the hard, unfriendly, unpopular and non-politically correct truthfulness of Scripture they devalue the Gospel. If one does not understand how naturally they sin and how horrendous their sin is to a Holy God and what their sinfulness so rightly demands – DEATH! then how can they start to grasp the life-saving, remarkableness of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ? So does that mean that we (the under Shepherds) should verbally beat-up our congregations each week – just in case an unbeliever is in their midst? NO! But it does mean that as we preach through the text God has given us to deliver to His people, that we don’t shy away or down-play or simply skip over certain words, sentences, or paragraphs.

Pastors/Elders (same=same) have been charged with preaching the word! And if a Pastor/Preacher isn’t able to lovingly, compassionately, diligently and accurately complete that task – then he doesn’t belong in the pulpit! There are currently too many men in America that are more interested in entertaining with stories or telling jokes than unabashedly expositing the Word and church services that are “performance centered” and not “Worship centered.”

So …what’s wrong with “User-Friendly churches“??

I think there is too much emphasis on Man and not nearly enough on God!

What do you think??

Biblically-Anemic Preaching: The Devastating Consequences of a Watered-Down Message
2 Timothy 4:2

[link to www.gty.org]

John MacArthur

Those who are familiar with my ministry know that I am committed to expository preaching. It is my unshakable conviction that the proclamation of God’s Word should always be the heart and the focus of the church’s ministry (2 Tim. 4:2). And proper biblical preaching should be systematic, expositional, theological, and God-centered.

Such preaching is in short supply these days. There are plenty of gifted communicators in the modern evangelical movement, but today’s sermons tend to be short, shallow, topical homilies that massage people’s egos and focus on fairly insipid subjects like human relationships, "successful" living, emotional issues, and other practical but worldly—and not definitively biblical—themes. These messages are lightweight and without substance, cheap and synthetic, leaving little more than an ephemeral impression on the minds of the hearers.

Some time ago I hosted a discussion at the Expositors’ Institute, an annual small-group colloquium on preaching held at our church. In preparation for that seminar, I took a yellow legal pad and a pen and began listing the negative effects of the superficial brand of preaching that is so rife in modern evangelicalism.

I initially thought I might be able to identify about ten, but in the end I had jotted down a list of sixty-one devastating consequences. I’ve distilled them to fifteen by combining and eliminating all but the most crucial ones. I offer them as a warning against superficial, marginally biblical preaching—both to those who stand behind the pulpit and to those who sit in the pew.

1. It usurps the authority of God over the soul. Whether a preacher boldly proclaims the Word of God or not is ultimately a question of authority. Who has the right to speak to the church? The preacher or God? Whenever anything is substituted for the preaching of the Word, God’s authority is usurped. What a prideful thing to do! In fact, it is hard to conceive of anything more insolent that could be done by a man who is called by God to preach.

2. It removes the lordship of Christ from His church. Who is the Head of the church? Is Christ really the dominant teaching authority in the church? If so, then why are there so many churches where His Word is not being faithfully proclaimed? When we look at contemporary ministry, we see programs and methods that are the fruit of human invention, the offspring of opinion polls and neighborhood surveys, and other pragmatic artifices. Church-growth experts have in essence wrested control of the church’s agenda from her true Head, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Puritan forefathers resisted the imposition of government-imposed liturgies for precisely this reason: They saw it as a direct attack on the headship of Christ over His own church. Modern preachers who neglect the Word of God have yielded the ground those men fought and sometimes died for. When Jesus Christ is exalted among His people, His power is manifest in the church. When the church is commandeered by compromisers who want to appease the culture, the gospel is minimized, true power is lost, artificial energy must be manufactured, and superficiality takes the place of truth.

3. It hinders the work of the Holy Spirit. What is the instrument the Spirit uses to do His work? The Word of God. He uses the Word as the instrument of regeneration (1 Pet. 1:23; Jas. 1:18). He also uses it as the means of sanctification (John 17:17). In fact, it is the only tool He uses (Eph. 6:17). So when preachers neglect God’s Word, they undermine the work of the Holy Spirit, producing shallow conversions and spiritually lame Christians—if not utterly spurious ones.

4. It demonstrates appalling pride and a lack of submission. In the modern approach to "ministry," the Word of God is deliberately downplayed, the reproach of Christ is quietly repudiated, the offense of the gospel is carefully eliminated, and "worship" is purposely tailored to fit the preferences of unbelievers. That is nothing but a refusal to submit to the biblical mandate for the church. The effrontery of ministers who pursue such a course is, to me, frightening.

5. It severs the preacher personally from the regular sanctifying grace of Scripture. The greatest personal benefit that I get from preaching is the work that the Spirit of God does on my own soul as I study and prepare for two expository messages each Lord’s Day. Week by week the duty of careful exposition keeps my own heart focused and fixed on the Scriptures, and the Word of God nourishes me while I prepare to feed my flock. So I am personally blessed and spiritually strengthened through the enterprise. If for no other reason, I would never abandon biblical preaching. The enemy of our souls is after preachers in particular, and the sanctifying grace of the Word of God is critical to our protection.

6. It clouds the true depth and transcendence of our message and therefore cripples both corporate and personal worship. What passes for preaching in some churches today is literally no more profound than what preachers in our fathers’ generation were teaching in the five-minute children’s sermon they gave before dismissing the kids. That’s no exaggeration. It is often that simplistic, if not utterly inane. There is nothing deep about it. Such an approach makes it impossible for true worship to take place, because worship is a transcendent experience. Worship should take us above the mundane and simplistic. So the only way true worship can occur is if we first come to grips with the depth of spiritual truth. Our people can only rise high in worship in the same proportion to which we have taken them deep into the profound truths of the Word. There is no way they can have lofty thoughts of God unless we have plunged them into the depths of God’s self-revelation. But preaching today is neither profound nor transcendent. It doesn’t go down, and it doesn’t go up. It merely aims to entertain.

By the way, true worship is not something that can be stimulated artificially. A bigger, louder band and more sentimental music might do more to stir people’s emotions. But that is not genuine worship. True worship is a response from the heart to God’s truth (John 4:23). You can actually worship without music if you have seen the glories and the depth of what the Bible teaches.

7. It prevents the preacher from fully developing the mind of Christ. Pastors are supposed to be under-shepherds of Christ. Too many modern preachers are so bent on understanding the culture that they develop the mind of the culture and not the mind of Christ. They start to think like the world, and not like the Savior. Frankly, the nuances of worldly culture are virtually irrelevant to me. I want to know the mind of Christ and bring that to bear on the culture, no matter what culture I may be ministering to. If I’m going to stand up in a pulpit and be a representative of Jesus Christ, I want to know how He thinks—and that must be my message to His people too. The only way to know and proclaim the mind of Christ is by being faithful to study and preach His Word. What happens to preachers who obsess about cultural "relevancy" is that they become worldly, not godly.

8. It depreciates by example the spiritual duty and priority of personal Bible study. Is personal Bible study important? Of course. But what example does the preacher set when he neglects the Bible in his own preaching? Why would people think they need to study the Bible if the preacher doesn’t do serious study himself in the preparation of his sermons? There is now a movement among some in ministry to trim, as much as possible, all explicit references to the Bible from the sermon—and above all, don’t ever ask your people to turn to a specific Bible passage because that kind of thing makes "seekers" uncomfortable. Some churches actively discourage their people from bringing Bibles to church lest the sight of so many Bibles intimidate the "seekers." As if it were dangerous to give your people the impression that the Bible might be important!

9. It prevents the preacher from being the voice of God on every issue of his time. Jeremiah 8:9 says, "The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; so what wisdom do they have?" When I speak, I want to be God’s messenger. I’m not interested in exegeting what some psychologist or business guru or college professor has to say about an issue. My people don’t need my opinion; they need to hear what God has to say. If we preach as Scripture commands us, there should be no ambiguity about whose message is coming from the pulpit.

10. It breeds a congregation that is as weak and indifferent to the glory of God as their pastor is. Such preaching fosters people who are consumed with their own well-being. When you tell people that the church’s primary ministry is to fix for them whatever is wrong in this life—to meet their needs, to help them cope with their worldly disappointments, and so on—the message you are sending is that their mundane problems are more important than the glory of God and the majesty of Christ. Again, that sabotages true worship.

11. It robs people of their only true source of help. People who sit under superficial preaching become dependent on the cleverness and the creativity of the speaker. When preachers punctuate their sermons with laser lights and smoke, video clips and live drama, the message they send is that there isn’t a prayer the people in the pew could ever extract such profound material on their own. Such gimmicks create a kind of dispensing mechanism that people can’t use to serve themselves. So they become spiritual couch potatoes who just come in to be entertained, and whatever superficial spiritual content they get from the preacher’s weekly performance is all they will get. They have no particular interest in the Bible because the sermons they hear don’t cultivate that. They are wowed by the preacher’s creativity and manipulated by the music, and that becomes their whole perspective on spirituality.

12. It encourages people to become indifferent to the Word of God and divine authority. Predictably, in a church where the preaching of Scripture is neglected, it becomes impossible to get people to submit to the authority of Scripture. The preacher who always aims at meeting felt needs and strokes the conceit of worldly people has no platform from which to confront the man who wants to divorce his wife without cause. The man will say, "You don’t understand what I feel. I came here because you promised to meet my felt needs. And I’m telling you, I don’t feel like I want to live with this woman anymore." You can’t inject biblical authority into that. You certainly wouldn’t have an easy time pursuing church discipline. That is the monster that superficial preaching creates. But if you are going to try to deal with sin and apply any kind of authoritative principle to keep the church pure, you must be preaching the Word.

13. It lies to people about what they really need. In Jeremiah 8:11, God condemns the prophets who treated people’s wounds superficially. That verse applies powerfully to the preachers who populate so many prominent evangelical pulpits today. They omit the hard truths about sin and judgment. They tone down the offensive parts of Christ’s message. They lie to people about what they really need, promising them "fulfillment" and earthly well-being when what people really need is an exalted vision of Christ and a true understanding of the splendor of God’s holiness.

14. It strips the pulpit of power. "The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Heb. 4:12). Everything else is impotent, giving merely an illusion of power. Human strategy is not more important than Scripture. The showman’s ability to lure people in should not impress us more than the Bible’s ability to transform lives.

15. It puts the responsibility on the preacher to change people with his cleverness. Preachers who pursue the modern approach to ministry must think they have the power to change people. That, too, is a frightening expression of pride. We preachers can’t save people, and we can’t sanctify them. We can’t change people with our insights, our cleverness, by entertaining them or by appealing to their human whims and wishes and ambitions. There’s only One who can change sinners. That’s God, and He does it by His Spirit through the Word.

So pastors must preach the Word, even though it is currently out of fashion to do so (2 Tim. 4:2). That is the only way their ministry can ever truly be fruitful. Moreover, it assures that they will be fruitful in ministry, because God’s Word never returns to Him void; it always accomplishes that for which He sends it and prospers in what He sends it to do (Isa. 55:11).

Re: HELL: Why isn't the Pulpit preaching Revelation : ???Do the Christians really care about Mathew 28?
User-friendly is an apt description, but propsperity preaching sums it up better. I've searched in vain for a "church" that wouldn't make Jesus "kick over" some pews, but to no avail.

My daily worship is centered around my God, Bible, family and close, spiritual friends.

Thank you for your comment; so honest of you, yet so sad to hear that so many like yourself are missing out on fellowship with others that are really 'worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth.

He will lead you daily, and bless you as you worship and praise Him.

God Wants Us To Prosper...
But There Are No
"Get Rich Quick" Schemes
Question:

On your Statement of Faith, you say that you reject the prosperity gospel. Why? God wants us to be prosperous

Answer: The Bible tells us in 1Timothy 6:10,

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

I have to be careful how I answer this question. God is not against prosperity. There are many verses in the Bible that tell us that God wants us to prosper. Certainly,
God has blessed His children and we do not lack any good thing. In the free world, one who works hard will receive the fruits of his labors. You will reap what you sow. This applies to the saved and unsaved. If you work hard and excel above the others, you are promoted in the work place. If you have special skills, you are always needed. If you pray, the Lord will certainly help you to be the best worker you can possibly be. He can enable you to do things you never thought possible. With God,
all things are possible.

Matt 6:7-8 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye there-fore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him

Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in
glory by Christ Jesus.

The problem with the Prosperity Gospel teaching is the coveting of extreme luxuries; the outlandish promises of enormous wealth. "Give to our ministry and you will get whatever your heart desires." These kind of cheap gimmicky "Gimme your best offering" sermons are not scriptural. God is not going to give a Mercedes Benz to the man who gives a $1000.00. The Bible says in Psalms 62:10; "if riches increase, set not your heart upon them."

Jer 9:23-24 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment,
and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

The Bible says in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have
I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." God always blesses us in so many ways. If one door closes, He always opens another door for
us and though at the moment of a crisis (such a losing a job), one may not
understand why, God allowed it for a reason and we need to just trust Him. He always opens up a better door because He knows what is best for us. We have to
be willing to walk through the door that He opens. Sometimes, it means getting out
of the comfort zone and to step out in faith, trusting the Lord that He has our lives
in His hands. Sometimes, it means leaving one city or state and going to another.

When I view TV news programs reporting on how people have lost their jobs and they sit home in despair for months on end; complaining that there is no work in
that city in which they live, I feel for them and pray for them. Though, sometimes,
I can't help but think, "Why not look for a job in another city?" If they had no unemployment benefits, you better believe they would be searching in another city. Sometimes, it is easier to complain than to get up out of the ashes. Without the
Lord, one has no hope; but with God, the possibilities are endless. With the Lord's help, one can have a better quality of life. Jesus can help anyone to get up out of
the ashes of despair. Jesus gives us new beginnings. We are more than conquerors through HIM who loves us. In my marriage, we have moved three times and have lived in three different states and the Lord has always lead us to greener pastures. God has provided a much better job with much better pay and we give Him all the praise for that. So if you are in need of prosperity, seek the Only ONE who gives
the prosperity. Look not to a preacher or a ministry, look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

If man shall not work, man shall not eat. Christians should never be slothful. It is
not God's will for a Christian to be slothful. God wants to see us prosper in the work place and we can serve Him by working diligently in whatever place He has placed
us in.

Prov 20:13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and
thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

Prov 21:17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine
and oil shall not be rich.

Prov 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

Prov 26:14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Prov 12:11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

Prov 10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of
the diligent maketh rich.

God does cause his children to prosper. He wants us to prosper. When you look
at most of the homeless people who get saved in the Christian mission shelters, they do not remain homeless for too long. God blesses them too and they become successful in their endeavors because of what the Lord is doing in their lives. When one gets saved, the change begins. Those that hit rock bottom before Jesus do not remain at rock bottom after Jesus.

The Lord wants us to have food on the table and to feed our kids. The Lord wants
us to have shelter and heat in the house and clothes to wear. But NEEDS and wants are two different things. If you want to be like the rich and have numerous multi-million dollar homes and drive fancy $200,000 cars, is that God's will for your life? To own symbols of status in this world? Read the following Bible verses:

Prov 30:8-9 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Prov 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Prov 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Prov 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

"Giving to Get Rich Luxury Items"

If you listen to the Prosperity Preachers, they will tell you that you will get these
rich things if you will only give to their ministry (and not to the local church.)
"Give $1000.00 and get $100,000 back." LISTEN CAREFULLY: the only people who ever get those million dollar homes and fancy cars by viewers giving are
the preachers preaching this filthy lucre nonsense and receiving the offerings from Christians who "give to get." It's all about greed.

Our motive for giving should never be because we want to have the Rolls Royce. That is anti-biblical! Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The only people getting a return from this kind of preaching are the preachers themselves and their families. See links below and read the astonishing facts on various "Prosperity" preachers and ministries.

Prov 13:7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

God forbid that we Christians should throw away our hard earned money on a ministry who wastes the money of God's people! Many preachers are living VERY high on the hog because poor souls have given their last dollar in the hopes of grasping the brass ring. This is sad indeed. These preachers live in multi-million
dollar homes in gated communities, posh golf course communities, with lavish lifestyles, with their wives shopping mostly in Dior and Chanel boutiques, wearing mostly designer gold/diamond watches and owning Learjets and yachts-- While the dollars keep rolling in and in and in, some poor soul believes the hellish doctrine that these preachers are preaching and this poor soul believes that someday, he too will have a Rolls Royce. Well, the only way this soul will have it is if he too gets on TV and starts scamming people out of their hard earned cash! If he were to do that, he would not be a Christian. Because how can one take money from people who give
to the Lord's work and reward themselves with the luxuries of this world? So called preachers giving themselves raises and investing "Gospel" money into the stock market for their own personal gain?

You put Christian TV on and some lady in a blonde wig is crying in front of the cameras saying "Please give...we need this money... Your best check possible...
you will get 100 fold back...just give..." and meanwhile people are giving and this same crying lady makes more money in a day than the givers make in a month.

I am being harsh but some of you out there are still into the "get rich quick" mentality of the prosperity gospel. Rule of thumb in this country: You only get money by going out and earning it. Unless one of your relatives already did the work for you and you inherit it or you win the sweepstakes, you need to get up and go to work. God blesses the diligent man who works. God will supply your NEEDS. You may need a car. God will bless you with one. You don't need the fancy Mercedes. You may want it but you don't need it. That is a luxury car and not a necessity for you.

Matt 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

1Tim 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

We are supposed to give unto the Lord.

We are to give unto the Lord's work. God knows our hearts and when we support a ministry, it is because we want to see the Gospel preached and souls saved, the homeless fed and sheltered, children clothed and educated, missionaries sponsored and lives touched with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If that ministry is misappropriating funds, it is time to pull the plug and put our money into a place worthy to be called Christian. Pray about supporting ministries such as Pacific Garden Mission. Such organizations are making a difference. What about your local Christian Mission?
You might want to visit these mission services downtown and hear the testimonies from the men and women of how Jesus has saved their souls. Support Christian ministries that reach out to the homeless with the Good News that Jesus saves. There are people in your own city that need to hear the Gospel and some may even be homeless and in need of a hot meal.

1Tim 6:17-18 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Years ago, I knew a young man, Tony, who was Muslim. Being from Syria and
living here in the US, he observed something that plagued his heart. I still remember vividly our conversation in that coffee shop where we were sitting.

He said, "Let me ask you something that bothers me very much. Maybe you can
help me understand. I come to this country. I have never seen so many Christian churches in my life. Some are beautiful with stained glass and some are very large... Beautiful buildings...rich. There is one on just about every major street corner. Ok,
I go downtown and I see so many homeless people sleeping on the streets. Poor people... no food or home or money. Now, let me ask you a question...didn't your God, Jesus, say to help and feed the poor? He did say this, did He not?" I said,
"Yes, He did." Tony said; "then why don't these Christian churches do what Jesus says to do?" I paused and said, "Tony, that is a very good question. I wonder the same thing. I do not have an answer for you." He said, "What the Bible says, they should do. If they believe, they should do. If Jesus told them to go and feed the
poor and help them, they should do it." I said, "well, I agree, but there are many churches who do help the homeless and feed the poor and needy. Not all churches
are necessarily disobedient to what Jesus says in this regard. But I do agree with you that if the Christian church, as a whole, was to truly do what it is supposed to do, there would be less homeless on the streets."

Why is it that only some churches reach out to the homeless and not all?
Psalm 41:1 <To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.> Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

We are to give. If you are like most, your pastor, no doubt, preaches on tithing--
Most do and quite frequently. But tithing sermons should not take precedence over the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If your pastor is preaching tithing week after week, something is wrong. People should give out of their hearts. God loves a cheerful
giver. If the pastor sticks to preaching Jesus, all things will fall into place. The
problem becomes one of the heart. Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Some pastors dream of a larger church. So instead of looking at renting a storefront
or a hotel meeting room, they want the BIG BUILDING. So the sermons that were once great Gospel and Epistle sermons about Jesus and what He accomplished at the cross, become sermons of "Give, give, give...because we need to pay for this new building." And then the sermons become more watered down because the church needs to be filled with more people and God forbid that the sermons would offend
the new parishioners..."We need them for tithing." "Well, so-and-so has a HUGE church and it is gorgeous and that is just the standard now. We need to build the
same kind. Even better."

You may wonder how I know so much about this subject? These are things that I have heard in the churches that I have visited and attended over the past 23 years
that I have been saved. It is just standard talk among many pastors and churches
that we have encountered. Their minds had become so jaded that they could
no longer remember the reason why they became pastors to begin with...souls! Their ambitions were of becoming the best church in town, having the best music, best choir, best pews, best building, best inoffensive sermons, and last but not least, best tithers. The Gospel of Jesus was lost in the sermons. The people who loved the Lord left that church seeking another church where the Gospel would be preached and the Bible would be taught. More people filled the HUGE church where the pastor, who once preached the Bible, now preaches cute "sermonettes". The church grew with more and more people who did not care to be fed the Word of God and so the story goes.

This is why the church, as a whole, is in the state it is in. We have BIG, fancy churches... Many pastors busy fulfilling their own dreams that they have become blinded to the truth that they are preaching another "jesus" and another gospel. We have the homeless in the streets who need to hear about Jesus and we have ministers out there who care about filling more pews with more faithful tithers. Not all pastors and preachers are like this. Thank God that there are some out there who still love Jesus and preach the Word and that care about souls.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest
be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame
of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Thank the Lord that there are still some pastors and preachers out there contending for the faith and preaching the Gospel of the Jesus Christ. Sadly, quite a large majority of the ones on TV are preaching "another jesus" and "another gospel" and we need to be careful what ministries we support. God wants us to be prosperous
and He will bless our hard work. But God's Word speaks nothing about a "get rich quick" scheme. There is not one place in the Bible where it says you are
to give money to the Lord's work to acquire luxury items.

We, as Christians, do not support a ministry to get more money back. This is the wrong attitude of the heart to have. We are to give from the heart. We all need to examine our hearts and motives and pray that the Lord will help us so that we will
not have a covetous heart. We are to lay up our treasures in heaven. The Lord
Jesus said; "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God, the things
that are God's." Pay your taxes, give to the ministry the Lord lays upon your heart. Be a good worker in the work place and you will be rewarded. There is no, "get
rich quick" in the Bible but you reap what you sow is what the Bible says.

2Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
1Thess 4:11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and
to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

1Tim 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Prov 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Prov 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I
be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Megachurch pastor biggest beneficiary of charity he founded
Associated Press

LITHONIA, Ga. - Jesus wasn't broke, and leaders of churches shouldn't be either.

That's what Bishop Eddie Long, who heads Georgia's biggest church, has to say in defense of his grand lifestyle, funded largely by the nonprofit religious charity he started in 1997.

According to tax records, Bishop Eddie Long Ministries, Inc. provided him with more than $3 million in salary and benefits, including a $1.4 million 20-acre home and use of a $350,000 Bentley. Long also received more than $1 million in salary, including $494,000 in 2000.

Long maintains the money came from royalties, speaking fees and several large donations - not from members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where he became pastor in 1987. The charity stopped operating in 2000.

During his 18-year tenure, New Birth has swelled from 300 members to 25,000. Long told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he heads an international corporation, not just a church.

"You've got to put me on a different scale than the little black preacher sitting over there that's supposed to be just getting by because the people are suffering," he said.

Long's charity and his church were separate organizations, and his charity was incorporated as a nonprofit religious corporation - not a church. He and his wife, Vanessa, were two of the charity's four board members.

The charity, which Long incorporated in New York in 1995, made $3.1 million in donations to others between 1997 and 2000, according to tax records - compared to at least $3.07 million paid to Long during the same period.

Nonprofits are exempt from paying state and federal income taxes if they meet certain criteria, but executives' benefits may not be excessive according to federal law.

Churches must report to the IRS how much they pay employees, but those records are not public. The charity's tax returns are public record.

Long's benefits were excessive, said Jeff Krehely, deputy director of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, a Washington-based group that promotes accountability in the philanthropic community.

"After reviewing the compensation packages of foundation executives, including those who have been written up in the press as being excessive, I've never seen anything quite like what Long (was) getting, when you include his salary, the house and the car," Krehely said.

Long's tax attorney, J. David Epstein, said the charity's compensation committee decided to use some of the charity's assets to pay Long for his work at New Birth to make up for years when he was underpaid.

"Bishop Long has never received the legal amount of compensation he is due by law," said Epstein, a Philadelphia lawyer specializing in church law and producer of a video for pastors called "How to Maximize Your Clergy Salary and Benefits Package."

Long used to receive a salary from New Birth, but now accepts "love offerings" from church members, according to a church spokesman.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who chairs a Senate committee investigating lavish salaries of nonprofit executives, expressed concern upon hearing about Long's situation.

"I'm worried that a few people are confusing the ringing of a church bell with the ringing of a cash register," Grassley said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "When I hear about leaders of charities being provided a $300,000 Bentley to drive around in, my fear is that it's the taxpayers who subsidize this charity who are really being taken for a ride."

Long says he represents a "paradigm shift" in the black church, and that any problems people have with his charity stem from people's expectations that pastors should be poor. He said his congregation is inspired by seeing its pastor do well.

"I'm not going to apologize for anything."

TD JAKES

Excerpt:

TD Jakes lives with wife Serita and their five children in a Dallas mansion, complete with an indoor swimming pool and bowling alley. His message and his skill in conveying that message in a number of ways has made him a role model for black evangelical ministers....And while some accuse Jakes of being driven by the dollar and not the divine - his transportation stable consists of a Mercedes-Benz, a Bentley, a BMW, a Lexus and a jet - his socially compassionate ministry receives mostly praise.

According to CNN:
[link to www.cnn.com]

Jakes and his wife Serita, who is known as "the first lady," (they have five children) live in a $1.7 million pillared mansion on Dallas' scenic White Rock Lake next to an edifice once owned by oil magnate H.L. Hunt. He baptized former bad-boy athlete Deion (Neon) Sanders and befriended him, along with a host of luminaries like Natalie Cole. He flies on charter planes or in first-class seats, sups with a coterie in a room known as "the king's table," sports a large diamond ring and dresses like the multimillionaire he is.

JOHN HAGEE

"Jesus was not poor...Jesus had a nice house! John 1:38 says that Jesus turned to those that were following him and said, 'Come with me.' And they said, 'Where dwells thou?' He said, 'Come and see.' And Jesus took that whole crowd home with Him to stay in His house. That meant it was a big house! Jesus wore fine clothes! John 19:23 says, 'He had a seamless robe.' Roman soldiers gambled for it at the foot of the cross. It was a designer original! It was valuable enough for them to want it...And then there are Christians that have a poverty complex that says, 'Well, I feel guilty about having nice things.' Jesus didn't!"

This is the problem, that Generational Satanist (tares) have taken over all churches. It's time that you and all true believers "came out of her" so that they will not receive the judgments that are about to fall upon the Churches.

Yeah OP, I agree completely with your assesment, yet there are not any churches left that preach such a gospel. All churches that are a threat to Satan have been infiltrated and are awash with the occult, and heresy. I came out a long time ago, maybe it's time you came out as well. Most true believers have.

Brother,

II TIMOTHY 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:17-25

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For it is written, I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND WILL BRING TO NOTHING THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRUDENT.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the widsom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Shalom, I will stand with you brother, for He is closer now than when we first believed.

That is the best attitude; I know the frustration of having to deal with such heresy in the world and in the Churches, it is epidemic, and that is why the Lord will have to destroy the "church" as we know it and begin to establish His Kingdom, "On earth, as it is in Heaven."

Hello,

Its great to hear your 'church' is preaching a message on Revelation.

I must say this though - if you know Christ and His Word, how can you feel comfortable 'praying to Mary'? She is dead. The Word of God says not to pray to dead people. The pope is also known as the Vicar of Christ, 'vicar' in the Greek means 'substitute' - he is not a substitute for God.

We are all His priests and ambassadors.

There is no purgatory - it is a man-made idea.

I will only bow to Christ, no man, including the catholic pope.

Peter made it very very clear to Cornelius to bow to no man, only Christ.

The Word of God says call NO MAN Father, but our Father in heaven.

The confessional box is another man made thing - we are to confess our sins to one another, not a dark room through a catholic 'priest'.

Re: HELL: Why isn't the Pulpit preaching Revelation : ???Do the Christians really care about Mathew 28?
I am greived at the lack of Hell and Revelation not being preached from the pulpit, especially in these obvious End Time days - the gospel is being watered down. Read 1 Peter christians, if you dare.

I am OVER being silent about this - I am DISGUSTED that so many of us who PROFESS to love and serve God are so apathetic about being passionate for Christ.

Thats great to hear - it will be a blessing and so necessary in these coming days, if only others who are yet to know Christ knew how much!

There 'eternity' is on the line - that is all we need to care about - the eternity of others, THAT is what Jesus commanded us to do, take HIS gospel of good news to others.

Are there others here that feel this way?

Are the Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes, Kenneth Copeland and (I blush) Benny Hinn ALL off the wall - or not?

Joel Osteen, and the shameful Hillson 'pass the money buckets' - are turning God's house into a market place.

I know I know, it sounds judgemental - but if its so wrong - why is NO ONE standing up and putting out a fire that is spreading and hurting others - the fire without the truth of God in it?

NO I am NOT a radical 'denominational badge brand of christian' - I AM GRIEVED AT THAT KIND.

Hellfire and brimstone? The truth, is that what you are saying is wrong - that someone wants His Word and Shepherds to be real?

Whats the alternative - a humanistic, 'lets be happy chappy clappy types' as we hear a watered down version - lets NOT be confronted or convicted by the Word of God - heaven forbid it might 'offend' someone?

WE are not the ones to lead others to Christ, the WORD OF GOD via the Holy Spirit is the one that touches a heart. Those speaking the Gospel are HIS conduits - not bullies or bankers that horde the money given that is meant to be building God's house, not theirs!

TITHING by the way is NOT New Testament - does the book of Acts say 'pass the plate'?

Too much truth for you?

User-friendly is an apt description, but propsperity preaching sums it up better. I've searched in vain for a "church" that wouldn't make Jesus "kick over" some pews, but to no avail.

My daily worship is centered around my God, Bible, family and close, spiritual friends.

 Quoting: Wingedlion

I left the lutheran church we had attended...things just kept getting weirder and weirder. The Holy Spirit wasn't there. I feel somewhat guilty that I haven't gone back
(it's been about 2+ years now) to a different church. I'm
very disillusioned with church in general--but not God or
Jesus. We do go to our old church (church before this one we left because the other one was logistically better for us) at Christmas and Easter.

Much of Today's Preaching

[link to rockportbaptist.blogspot.com]

Your right, and this is why I am grieved.

Surely I'm not 'over-reacting' to hunger for the passion of Christ being preaced from the pulpit.

People are going to Hell - that is a fact.

Without accepting Christ as their 'bread of life' - there is NO entrance to the Kingdom of God for eternity.

We ARROGANTLY sit back and fold our hands with complacency.

If Jesus ask you in for an hour of instruction - what would He say to you here in 2010.

Hang your head in shame christians - we are responsible for those heading for an eternity separated from Christ.

The lack of response to this thread, by christians (thanking those who have replied by the way) SPEAKS MOUNTAINS.

Depart From Me I Never Knew You”…who is Jesus talking to???
“I Never Knew You..”

Matthew 7:21 – 23

Chrisitian, will you be one of these Jesus said to depart from Him?

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Of all the scripture that comes to mind, perhaps the saddest and most fearful of all is the very words of Jesus Himself found in Matthew 7 and verse 21 – 23. Here, Jesus tells us that at the second coming, there will be some people who will fully expect to ascend to heaven with Him in the clouds of glory, but He will have to tell them; “….depart from Me, I never knew you.” Can you imagine those words falling from our Savior’s lips? “depart from Me, I never knew you!”

Make no mistake about it; there will be people on the Day of Judgment that are going to be expecting to go to heaven, yet instead of inheriting the Kingdom, they are going to hear those saddening words of Christ; “Depart from Me, I never knew you.” There will be deacons, deaconesses, Sabbath school teachers, Elders, Pastors, TV evangelists, miracle workers along with countless others (ie. all church people!) that will be turned away–and all because they lacked one very necessary qualification; they didn’t truly know the Lord and so He will be forced to say to them, “…depart from Me, for I never knew you.”

The people Jesus will say He “never knew” will be those who never felt the need to truly “know Him” yet these are people who “think” they are going to heaven!

In the two videos below Nate Pfeil gives an uncompromisingly clear and heart examining message on those whom Jesus will utter those sad and fearful words “…depart from Me, for I never knew you.”

Re: HELL: Why isn't the Pulpit preaching Revelation : ???Do the Christians really care about Mathew 28?
The truth about Hell
by Terry Watkins

“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments. . .” Luke 16:23

What you're about to read is hard to believe. . .

We're going to examine the place the Bible calls hell. We'll present documented evidence for a place called hell. Don't take what you're going to read lightly. If what you read is true — YOU COULD BE IN SERIOUS DANGER!

Several years ago a book was published, entitled Beyond Death's Door by Dr. Maurice Rawlings. Dr. Rawlings, a specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, resuscitated many people who had been clinically dead. Dr. Rawlings, a devout atheist, "considered all religion "hocus-pocus" and death nothing more than a painless extinction". But something happened in 1977 that brought a dramatic change in the life of Dr. Rawlings! He was resuscitating a man, terrified and screaming — descending down into the flames of hell:
"Each time he regained heartbeat and respiration, the patient screamed, "I am in hell!" He was terrified and pleaded with me to help him. I was scared to death. . . Then I noticed a genuinely alarmed look on his face. He had a terrified look worse than the expression seen in death! This patient had a grotesque grimace expressing sheer horror! His pupils were dilated, and he was perspiring and trembling — he looked as if his hair was "on end."
Then still another strange thing happened. He said,"Don't you understand? I am in hell. . . Don't let me go back to hell!" . . .the man was serious, and it finally occurred to me that he was indeed in trouble. He was in a panic like I had never seen before."
(Maurice Rawlings, Beyond Death's Door,(Thomas Nelson Inc., 1979) p. 3).
Dr. Rawlings said, no one, who could have heard his screams and saw the look of terror on his face could doubt for a single minute that he was actually in a place called hell!

The Bible continually warns of a place called hell. There are over 162 references in the New Testament alone which warns of hell. And over 70 of these references were uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ!

In Luke 16, Jesus Christ gives a frightening picture of hell:

22 . . . the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (Luke 16:22-28)
HELL IS A PLACE OF FIRE

The man in Luke 16:24 cries: ". . .I am tormented in this FLAME."

In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting FIRE,. . ."

Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE."

THE BIBLE GIVES THE LOCATION OF HELL

When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He descended into hell. In Acts 2, Peter is speaking, verse 31, " . . . seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in HELL"

When Jesus Christ died His soul went into hell.

And in Matthew 12:40, Jesus Christ says:

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly: so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH. "
The Bible is clear — Hell is inside the earth!

Ephesians 4:9, says of Jesus: "Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH."

On page 85 of Beyond Death’s Door, Dr. Rawlings writes patients who described hell said, ". . . this place seems to be UNDERGROUND or WITHIN THE EARTH in some way."
Scientist and Bible teacher, Henry Morris also agrees the Bible plainly teaches that hell is in this earth:

"So far as we can tell from Scripture, the present hell, is somewhere in the heart of the earth itself. It is also called 'the pit' (Isa. 14:9, 15: Ezek. 32:18-21) and 'the abyss' (Rev. 9:2). . .
The writers certainly themselves believed hell to be real and geographically 'beneath' the earth's surface. . .
To say this is not scientific is to assume science knows much more about the earth's interior than is actually the case. The great 'pit' [hell] would only need to be about 100 miles or less in diameter to contain, with much room to spare, all the forty billion or so people who have ever lived, assuming their 'spiritual' bodies are the same size as their physical bodies."
(Henry M. Morris, The Bible Has the Answer, p. 220)
The Birmingham News, April 10, 1987 had an article entitled "Earth's Center Hotter Than Sun's Surface, Scientists Say". The article stated that scientists have recently discovered, "THE EARTH'S INNER CORE HAS A TEMPERATURE OF OVER 12,000 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT!"

Have you seen pictures of a volcano erupting, spewing a lake of fire from inside the earth — consuming everything within miles just from the heat? When Mount St. Helens erupted in May 18, 1980, it was described by reporters, "when HELL surfaced upon the earth." The book, Volcanoes, Earth's Awakening (p.91) describes an erupting volcano as "descent into HELL".

Thousands of years ago, the Bible described a place called hell in the heart of the earth that matches exactly what science is discovering.

YES! THERE IS A PLACE CALLED HELL!

In Numbers 16, the Bible gives the account of people falling into hell alive!

"And THE EARTH OPENED HER MOUTH, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive INTO THE PIT, and the EARTH CLOSED UPON THEM:" Numbers 16:32-33
Caspar Peucer, a famous fourteenth century astronomer and physician, who also researched and documented the volcanoe eruptions at Heklafell wrote some very frightening information in his research findings. Peucer, claims (as others) that "fearful howlings, weeping and gnashing of teeth" could be heard "for many miles. . ." as these volcanoes erupted:

"Out of the bottomless abyss of Heklafell, or rather out of Hell itself, rise melancholy cries and loud wailings, so that these can be heard for many miles around. . . there may be heard in the mountain fearful howlings, weeping and gnashing of teeth."
(Haraldur Sigurdsson, Melting the Earth, The History of Ideas on Volcanic Eruptions, p. 73)
And Caspar Peucer is not alone. There are others who believe they have heard "cries and screaming" coming from volcanoes. Most have tried to ignore the obvious. Some simply explain the "sounds of hell" to some rational meaning. But they are there. . .
"The fearsome noises that issued from some of their volcanoes were certainly thought to be the screams of tormented souls in the fires of hell below".
(Haraldur Sigurdsson, Melting the Earth, The History of Ideas on Volcanic Eruptions, p. 73)
Inside this earth, this very moment, there are millions of lost, tormented souls — burning, weeping, wailing — without any hope whatsoever!

In Mark 9:46, Jesus Christ says about hell: "Where THEIR WORM dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Jesus said explicitly — THEIR worm — not a worm, or the worm — but THEIR worm. The Bible teaches that Christians will one day have a body like the Lord Jesus Christ. Could it be, as some Bible students teach — that men and women in hell take on the form of their father, Satan (John 8:44)? In Revelation 12:3, Satan is described as a red dragon. Could Jesus Christ be referring to the body lost men and women will have for eternity?

The earth’s crust on land is normally 50 miles thick. You’d have to go down 50 miles before the edge of the fire. But in parts of the ocean floor, the earth’s crust is less than a mile thick.

Scientists recently discovered cracks on the ocean floor where fire was leaking out. Do you know what they found around these fire-breathing vents in the crust? Eight-foot long worms, found no other place in the world! The book, The Deep Sea, by Joseph Wallace (p.39), reads, "Perhaps the strangest of ocean creatures recently discovered are Riftia, the giant tube WORMS. Measuring up to 8 feet in length, the worms are ONLY FOUND NEAR DEEP SEA VENTS."

And Jesus Christ said, "Where THEIR WORM dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Have you read Isaiah 66 where the Lord Jesus Christ is quoting Mark 9:46?
Look at the context and time period of Isaiah 66:22-24:

Isaiah 66:22-24:
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

The "new heavens and new earth" of Isaiah 66:22 matches Revelation 21:1. This occurs AFTER the Great White Throne Judgement of Revelation 20:10-15! The references to "carcases"; "their worm"; "their fire" (vs 24) — is AFTER the Great White Throne Judgement of the LOST people! The reference to ". . the men that have transgressed. . ." are the LOST people AFTER the Great White Throne Judgement.
And at this point — they have received their NEW BODY! Notice what Isaiah says, the saved people shall "LOOK upon the CARCASES of the men that have transgressed. . ." It's worth mentioning that a "carcase" is not always a "DEAD body". For instance, two times the Bible specifically uses the term "dead carcase" (Deut. 14:8 and Ezek 6:5). If a carcase is ALWAYS a "dead" body, then why say "dead" carcase? And there's NOTHING in the context of Isaiah to imply these "men that transgressed" are "dead".

In fact, Isaiah clearly says, "their worm shall NOT DIE". Even in our language, we refer to a living body as a "carcase". For example, "Get your carcase [body] in here". Why is that important? Because when the saved people in Isaiah 66:24 are "looking upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed" — And do you know what they are SEEING? "Their worm"! The "carcase" they are seeing is "their WORM that shall not die". The end of Isaiah 66:24 is a frightening endorsement of this interpretation. What the saved people are viewing Isaiah says is , ". . . an abhorring unto all flesh". And my friend, that is not JUST a normal flesh body they are looking at! It is something that will send chills screaming through your soul at the horror. And it will happen!

And it will happen TO YOU if you die without the Lord Jesus Christ!

Even though the world tries to extinguish the cries and reality of hell — the truth of hell echoes throughout our world. We desperately pretend to cover our ears and igonore the "screams, the weeping, the wailing, the gnashing of teeth" but it is there. . . And we know it. We refuse to accept such a place exist. But it is there. And we know it. Nothing we can do, nothing we can say, can erase the horror of hell from our minds.

It is there. And we know it.

National Geographic magazine truthfully titled their story on Volcanoes "Going To Hell". When PBS did a series on The Savage Earth, one episode was titled "Hell's Crust: Our Everchanging Planet". Everything we know. Everything we observe. Echoes the truth of a place called hell.

It is there. And we know it.

Revelation 14:10 says, " . . . and he shall be tormented with fire and BRIMSTONE . . ." And Job 18 describes the " . . . PLACE of him that knoweth not God" (vs 21), in verse 15 as, " . . . BRIMSTONE shall be scattered upon his habitation." Do you know what brimstone is? It's sulfur. And do you know where sulfur or brimstone is found? INSIDE THIS EARTH! According to the book Volcanoes by Pierre Kohler (p. 43), when Mt. St Helens erupted in 1980 — 150,000 tons of sulfurous gas was ejected! Job is the oldest book in the Bible, written over 3,000 years ago, and yet Job knew what science wouldn't know for years — inside this earth is BRIMSTONE!

Nature magazine recently discovered (July 2002) what the Bible knew over 3,000 years ago. Inside this earth is "fire and brimstone":

"Volcanoes may be more like hell than anyone realized. Eruptions disgorge streams of molten sulphur, the brimstone of evangelical preachers, which burns up before it can be preserved for posterity, new research in the journal Geology shows".
(Nature, Science Update, July 22, 2002)

The cover of Discover magazine, August 2002, asks the question — "What's Really at the Center of the Earth?".
I know what's REALLY in "the center of this earth". Jesus Christ told us. Over and over. There is a lake of fire — with millions of people burning, weeping, screaming, wailing, gnashing of teeth".

". . . they dig into hell . . ." Amos 9:2
The following article appeared in the well respected Finland newspaper, Ammenusastia

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"As a communist I don’t believe in heaven or the Bible but as a scientist I now believe in hell," said Dr. Azzacove. "Needless to say we were shocked to make such a discovery. But we know what we saw and we know what we heard. And we are absolutely convinced that we drilled through the gates of hell!"

Dr. Azzacove continued, ". . .the drill suddenly began to rotate wildly, indicating that we had reached a large empty pocket or cavern. Temperature sensors showed a dramatic increase in heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit."

"We lowered a microphone, designed to detect the sounds of plate movements down the shaft. But instead of plate movements we heard a human voice screaming in pain! At first we thought the sound was coming from our own equipment."

"But when we made adjustments our worst suspicions were confirmed. The screams weren’t those of a single human, they were the screams of millions of humans!"
The following is a recording that claims to be the actual sounds of hell from the above article.

Are these the actual sounds of hell?

HELL IS A PLACE OF TORMENT
Jesus says of the man in Luke 16:

23 "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENTS. . . "
24 ". . . for I am TORMENTED in this FLAME."
28 ". . .PLACE OF TORMENT."
It is humanly impossible to comprehend the Bible description of hell. Nothing on earth can compare with it. No nightmare could produce a terror to match that of hell. No horror movie could describe it’s fright. No crime scene with all it’s blood and gore could begin to match it’s horror.

It will be beyond anything humanly imaginable!
The Bible warns in Psalm 9:17, you will not only be in hell — you will BE TURNED INTO HELL! You will literally BE HELL!

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Psalm 9:17
YOU will see HELL. . .
YOU will smell HELL. . .
YOU will breathe HELL. . .
YOU will hear HELL. . .
YOU will feel HELL. . .
YOU WILL BE HELL. . .

The Bible describes it as weeping (Matt 8:12), wailing (Matt 13:42), gnashing of teeth (Matt 13:50), darkness (Matt 25:30), flames (Luke 16:24), burning (Isa 33:14), torments (Luke 16:23), everlasting punishment! Jesus Christ says in Matthew 25:41, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels."

In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

HELL IS FOREVER!

All who enter hell — abandon all hope!

The horror of hell — for even one second is unbearable — but FOREVER!

Jesus says in Matthew 25:41: ". . . Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING fire, . . ."

Rev. 14:11: "The smoke of their TORMENT ascendeth up for EVER AND EVER: and they have NO REST DAY NOR NIGHT."
Just look how the Bible warns of the eternity and permance of hell!

everlasting fire — Matthew18:8, 25:41
everlasting punishment — Matthew 25:46
everlasting chains — Jude 1:6
eternal damnation — Mark 3:29
eternal judgment — Hebrews 6:2
eternal fire — Jude 1:7
unquenchable fire — Matthew 3:12
the fire that never shall be quenched — Mark 9:43, 44, 45, 46, 48
fire unquenchable — Luke 3:17
mist of darkness is reserved for ever — 2 Peter 2:17
the blackness of darkness for ever — Jude 1:13
My friend, I have searched my Bible, from cover to cover. . . I have studied every occurrence of hell in my Bible — and I can not find one verse, not one word of HOPE for someone in hell! NOT ONE WORD! The rich man in hell in Luke 16 never even asks to get out — He knew there was no way out!

OH MY FRIEND – HELL IS FOREVER AND EVER!
What could possibly be worth eternity in hell? No wonder Jesus Christ warned so much about hell! No wonder Jesus said in Mark 8:36, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?"

Jesus Christ took hell very serious. . .

Jesus Christ says in Mark 9:43-47,

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

Jesus Christ took hell so serious — He could say without the slightest hesitation — to remove your eye, cut off your hand or foot, if that would keep you out of hell!

If hell is not real — Jesus Christ was the most deceived man that ever lived!

I’ll challenge anyone to read the words of Jesus Christ and tell me they are the words of a deceived man!

Jesus Christ knew exactly what He was talking about!

How did Jesus describe hell?

Jesus Christ spoke more on hell than any other subject.
Just look at how Jesus described hell:

WHAT JESUS CHRIST SAYS ABOUT HELL!
"fire" Matt 7:19, 13:40, 25:41
"everlasting fire" Matt 18:8, 25:41
"eternal damnation" Mark 3:29
"hell fire" Matt 5:22, 18:9, Mark 9:47
"damnation" Matt 23:14, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47
"damnation of hell" Matt 23:33
"resurrection of damnation" John 5:29
"furnace of fire" Matt 13:42, 50
"the fire that never shall be quenched" Mark 9:43, 45
"the fire is not quenched" Mark 9:44, 46, 48
"Where their worm dieth not" Mark 9:44, 46, 48
"wailing and gnashing of teeth" Matt 13:42, 50
"weeping and gnashing of teeth" Matt 8:12, 22:13, 25:30
"torments" Luke 16:23
"tormented in this flame" Luke 16:24
"place of torment" Luke 16:28
"outer darkness" Matt 8:12, 22:13
"everlasting punishment" Matt 25:46

WHAT IF JESUS IS RIGHT?

Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this THE JUDGEMENT:"

it is appointed unto man once to die . . .
and one day — YOU will die . . .

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments . . .

As you leave your body — you realize something is happening. You hear a sound. . . getting louder and louder. . . screaming . . .weeping. . . wailing. Terror and fear beyond anything you could imagine overtakes you. "This can’t be happening!" you scream. Your nostrils are filling with the awful stench of burning souls. Your face ignites from the heat. Flames are now blazing from your eyes, nostrils, ears, mouth — every opening in your body, flames are roaring out. Your body is sizzling and crackling from the flames.

Your body is now madly thrashing and convulsing from the horrible pain. "Why don’t I die?", you scream. You begin weeping and gnashing your teeth with the millions. "When will this pain stop?" But you know it will never stop. . .

The darkness is so terrifying, it begins engulfing you. You feel something moving in the darkness. . . something horrible is happening. "No! No! This can’t be happening" you scream — as your worm is emerging.

You begin cursing the day you were born. You scream — "Oh God, why didn’t you warn me?"— but you remember the preacher pleading with you to receive Jesus Christ. You remember reading that gospel tract. You cry — "God don’t you care?" — but you remember John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,. . ." "God is a God of love — He won't allow this", you cry — but you remember John 3:36, ". . . he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

And you soon realize, that Jesus Christ was right!

There is a place called hell.

AND YOU ARE THERE — FOREVER!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But God is a God of LOVE. . . Why would a GOD OF LOVE send me to hell? Yes, God is a GOD OF LOVE — but God is also a HOLY GOD. A HOLY GOD demands payment for sin. Otherwise God would NOT and could NOT be HOLY.

Because God is holy — sin MUST be condemned. Joshua 24:19 says, ". . he is an HOLY GOD;. . . he will NOT forgive your transgressions nor your sins."

BUT FRIEND I HAVE GOOD NEWS!

God does NOT want you in hell

Hell was not made for man. Matthew 25:41 says, hell was, ". . . prepared for the devil and his angels:"

Because God is a GOD OF LOVE, and He LOVED YOU so much, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to die a cruel death on a cross to pay the price a HOLY GOD demands for your sins.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

God does not send someone to hell. You choose hell when you reject Jesus Christ. When you refuse God's love gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. . .

YOU CHOOSE HELL!

Millionaire Ted Turner, said in an interview, "I’m looking forward to dying and being cast into Hell. That's where I belong." You say — he’s a fool! But friend, when you say "No"; to Jesus Christ and His payment for your sin — you are saying the same thing! You’re telling God — I don’t need Jesus Christ — I’ll pay for my sins in hell!

If you reject God’s gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ

ONE DAY YOU WILL BE IN HELL!

Dr. Rawlings has watched as thousands of people depart into eternity. Most people think they'll somehow "sneak" into heaven, but Dr. Rawlings claims most people descend into the flames of hell!

Jesus Christ gave a solemn warning in Matthew 7:21-23

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. . . MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

If it was for a few days, a few months, a few years or even a million years, but to be tormented — FOREVER! You will despair of ever having any deliverance! You will beg for death itself to come and take you away! You will curse the day you were born! Revelation 14:11 says, "The smoke of their TORMENT ascendeth up for EVER AND EVER: and they have NO REST DAY NOR NIGHT."

What could possibly be worth eternity in hell?

No wonder Jesus Christ said in Mark 8:36:
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"Mark 8:36:
God has something far better than words can describe for those who love Him. I Corinthians 2:9 says:

". . . Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."I Corinthians 2:9
Friend, there is a place called hell! And, if you continually refuse God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ — just as sure as you live and breathe — ONE DAY YOU WILL WAKE UP IN HELL!

Don't wait until you die to find out the truth about Hell! Tomorrow may be too late! Proverbs 27:1 says, "Boast not thyself of tomorrow: for thou KNOWEST NOT what a day may bring forth."

Three people die every second, 180 every minute, since you started reading this — 2000 more people have gone into eternity! An automobile accident. . . A heart attack. . , A stroke. . .One thing is CERTAIN — you will DIE — today. . . tomorrow . . . a week. . . a month . . . a year. . . 5 years. . . 10 years. . . 20 years. . . 50 years — ONE THING IS CERTAIN —" . . .it is appointed unto man once TO DIE . . ."

DON'T BE CAUGHT DEAD WITHOUT JESUS!

You may have made some terrible mistakes in your life. There may be some things in your life you would give anything to be able to change. But friend, I assure you — if you die without Jesus Christ — it'll be the worst mistake you could possibly make!

Has there ever come a time and a place in your life, when you received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?

If not, you are on the way to hell!

Don't let anyone convince you that when you die it will be all over! The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27:
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this THE JUDGMENT." Hebrews 9:27
Revelation 20:15 says:
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE." Revelation 20:15
If you've never received Jesus Christ as your Savior, bow your head this minute and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save you.Don't put it off another second!

NOTHING'S WORTH TAKING THE CHANCE!

It's simple to be saved ...

Realize you are a sinner.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10

"... for there is no difference. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

Realize you CAN NOT save yourself.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; ..." Isaiah 64:6

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, ..." Titus 3:5

Realize that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, ..." 1 Peter 2:24

"... Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," Revelation 1:5

Simply by faith receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" John 1:12

" ...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."" Acts 16:30,31

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE SAVED?

Pray this prayer, and mean it with all your heart.

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and unless you save me I am lost forever. I thank you for dying for me at Calvary. I come to you now, Lord the best way I know how, and ask you to save me. I now receive you as my Savior. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen.

 Quoting: Apostasy? 882852

B/c 90% of churches are 501c3s? B/c today's church is Apostate? B/c the church leaderships get their "news" from FOX, CNN, and Rush Limbaugh?

Ultimately, it's not so much that these preachers are "Jesuit agents", per se, but it just seems like they do NOT care anymore. While they preach a good gospel message every week(Jesus dying for our sins, the love of God, etc), at the same time, they're afraid to "scare" anyone, for fear that, let's say, their offering collections go down.

As we all know, the love of money is the root of all evil(I Timothy 6:10).

And it didn't help either for these "famous influental" preachers albeit Apostate ones like Billy Graham, Rick Warren, Oral Roberts, et al infiltrating our churches with their corrupt doctrine as well. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
