Having played AFL,, League and Union, all I can say is, there has never been anything more difficult or painful than a hard tackle after 1 hour and 30 minutes solid running in an AFL game during gameplay, and having to get up and continue fighting for another half an hour to stay in front.

The thing I have with NFL is that you're wearing a bit of padding there. I know it probably still hurts, but our guys are going just as hard as your guys when they tackle except it can only be be below the head and above the waist. You get winded alot of times playing it I assure you.

Just because you guys have padding doesn't mean you go harder. At the elite level the AFL blokes are still trying to get that ball just as much as the NFL guys, with their body being the second priority.

I geared up in NFL garb once in a pick-up game with the uni team during trials. I found the game to be cosy and a bit of a chuckle with all that gear.
