AFL. Australian Rules Football, makes the NFL look BORING! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 886405 Australia 02/09/2010 11:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can wish, you can aspire, you can dream. but the sport of NFL WILL NEVER beat Aussie Rules. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 189801Why would you compare a lemon to a banana? These sports are so dissimilar that an attempt at their comparison is almost mind-boggling. Is your flawed analytical skill a result of the Australian public school system? Or is this what a nancy boy with an Aussie inferiority complex looks like? No. I look at the situation for the average punter or sports fan getting their moneys worth. WE HAVE THE GREATEST SHOW on EARTH. |

How long does a players career last usually mate? Seems to me like they'd be taken out by injuries fairly quickly. Why not have some light padding? |

dabrute User ID: 663873 United States 02/09/2010 11:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The thread starter makes a great point. When i watch NFL games I usually pause the live TV with my DVR. After every play i do the 30 second skip forward and unless the hurry up is being used I end up at the start of the next play. 95% of the game is idle time. The NFL has become a spectacle of grandeur that no longer lives up to its roots. Way back when ESPN was in it first few years I was working late shifts. I would get home at 5am and ESPN would show alot of ARF. It really is a great sport to watch. The breath of Putin ass lickers smells just as bad as the breath of Biden ass lickers |

That game is a heap of shit. I watched Australia in the last world cup and we got knocked out because of a dive by an Italian player.... a dive.... You call that sport? AFL is one of the most incredible tests of endurance. The people purporting AFL is better would have watched their fair share of NFL too. You people in the US on the other hand, you don't know shit about other countries but tis not your fault thats the way your education system is set up, you only learn about yourselves. With that in mind, stfu... and actually watch a FULL game of AFL before commenting. Try dealing with this kind of a hit and fall, getting up straight away, and having to remain on and keep playing. The stop and go of NFL.... just too easy Pads are for the menstrual cycle, not for a game ladies. |

English football is taking over the AFL in OZZIE land watch the world cup,the land of OZ will come to a stand still the AFL lacks that kind of POWER With respect to Soccer, do you research when dealing with Australia. Sure, we will follow OZ in the world cup. BUT, we still possess the greatest game in the world. AFL. WE HAVE THE GREATEST SPORT IN THE WORLD. Soccer will never rival Aussie Rules. Never. Soccer can only dream of putting on a show like Aussie rules. Who wants soccer to rival it? You can dream as suchg, but the sport in itself FAILs in comparison. SO what if it's played in more countries? Never in our country. It's much like the USA. Soccer will NEVER displace NFL! And rightly so. Soccer is BORING and will never ever put on show such like Aussie Rules. EVER! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 874812 Canada 02/09/2010 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Somewhat of a derail... The largest animals on Earth live in the water... Mature blue whales can measure anywhere from 75 feet (23 m) to 100 feet (30.5 m) from head to tail, and can weigh as much as 150 tons (136 metric tons). That's as long as an 8- to 10-story building and as heavy as about 112 adult male giraffes! A blue whale's head is so wide that an entire professional football team -- about 50 people -- could stand on its tongue. Its heart is as big as a small car, and its arteries are wide enough that you could climb through them. And they can swim as fast as 30 mph! So, when it comes to team sports, in terms of intensity, size, strength, speed, endurance and agility required to play ... water polo should rank pretty high. Sadly, it is a poorly understood, niche sport. If it had the similar levels of participation and following as football/rugby, I think it could potentially evolve (due to its relative obscurity, it is yet to undergo a major metamorphosis, one predicated on greatest minds and bodies becoming involved) to join this debate. |

Shane Crawford who played for Hawthorn is famous for riding from Melbourne to Sydney or some other ridiculously long ride after every season. He cycles at a pace on par with professional riders and used to average over 20km of running per game. |

I'm sure NFL games in the past have been better. Quoting: Aussie Rules. 886339I tried real hard to watch the NFL showpiece. Even trying to ignore the larger players worthy of singing up to Jenny Craig, when their lard fat asses in tights, flashed up on screen. Granted, this is the NFL world of big boys capable of damage if tackled head on. I say, take your padding off and run for 30 seconds and play aussie rules over 4 x 20 minute quarters. But with all due respect, i came to understand their defensive and offensive parts in the NFL game. It's still fucking boring! What they contribute to the spectacle of the sport last seconds. It's nothing. It's a joke. Oh sure, a set play takes place, a tackle gets laid or a touchdown occurs. THE CROWD ROARS ... over FUCK ALL. Bugger ALL! Shit!. Even the commentators of NFL have nothing to boast about, because what ever occurs, last less than 20 seconds. The commentators have FUCK ALL to commentate on. Take the best NFL commentator and expose him to 1, 20 min quarter of Aussie Rules. He'd have a fucking heart attack or mental breakdown trying to keep up with the play. With respect to NFL athletes, your sport is BORING. AFL is just to fast. Too berserk. BERSERK! If i want big hits, i'll watch Rugby League and Union. If i want to watch the greatest athletic and spectator sport in the world? I'll watch Australian Rules Football.! AFL! AFL's Greatest Moments [link to www.youtube.com] Big Bumps of the AFL [link to www.youtube.com] NFL is massively overrated. why is everybody kicking the ball in short shorts and riding their testicles on other men's shoulders? i don't get it? this could be worser than soccer |
