The Guy User ID: 844967 United States 02/09/2010 04:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am the flag of the United States of America. My name is Old Glory. I fly atop the world's tallest buildings. I stand watch in America's halls of justice. I fly majestically over institutions of learning. I stand guard with power in the world. Look up and see me. I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice. I stand for freedom. I am confident. I am arrogant. I am proud. When I am flown with my fellow banners, my head is a little higher, my colors a little truer. I bow to no one! I am recognized all over the world. I am worshipped - I am saluted. I am loved - I am revered. I am respected - and I am feared. I have fought in every battle of every war for more then 200 years. I was flown at Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appomattox. I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France, in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy, Guam, Okinawa, Korea and KheSan, Saigon, Vietnam know me, I was there. I led my troops, I was dirty, battleworn and tired, but my soldiers cheered me And I was proud. I have been burned, torn and trampled on the streets of countries I have helped set free. It does not hurt, for I am invincible. I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of my country. And when it's by those whom I've served in battle - it hurts. But I shall overcome - for I am strong. I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stood watch over the uncharted frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon. I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours. But my finest hours are yet to come. When I am torn into strips and used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the battlefield, When I am flown at half-mast to honor my soldier, Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent at the grave of their fallen son or daughter, I am proud. MY NAME IS OLD GLORY LONG MAY I WAVE. DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN LONG MAY I WAVE. It's good to be open-minded, just don't let your brain fall out. |

I don' understand the flag worship esp. flying the flag of war on our home turf. Who are we at war with? Flying old glory has nothing to do with pride imo. You know you live in America. So, who are you informing of your Americaness? Your neighbor? I don't get it. |

They despise freedom and capitalism and hate everything the US stands for. Many people would rather see America burn and its people killed. Those people do live in the borders of the USA. Many people would rather see Americans turned into slaves, than have their own wishes go unfulfilled. These people live abroad and in the USA. The fight against everything America is. Just because someone lives in the US, doesn't mean they are American. Flag-flying is patriotic, whether or not people care. The idea is to show others that you are for the USA and its peoples' beliefs and traditions, not one of the millions or billions of people whom would rather see America destroyed for being better than a good 80% of nations. Our main enemies are within. It's best to show which side you stand for. Last Edited by Zerocyber on 02/09/2010 09:25 PM |

I swear i spent two weeks there a few years ago and almost every property sports a flag outside. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 886725Its patriotism gone mad Americans are wierd ITS JUST A FUCKING FLAG I could give a rip about the Flag. Just a piece of fabric. What I care about is the sacrifice, suffering, perseverance and blood spilled to give that flag to us, and the freedom it brings with it. You must be European, and most likely a Brit of course, what would you know about freedom as your whole United States of Europe is socialist, godless(removed every refernce from the Constitution) and very soon you will all be speaking arabic. Wake up! |
American_1973 User ID: 874976 United States 02/09/2010 09:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So if there is some other nation who would like to step up and become the new home of Liberty, fucking PLEASE DO THAT because all I see are socialist haters and cultural troglodytes stuck in the hating modality. Hey yo, we built the space shuttle. Okay we used our half of the Nazi scientists to do that (and to do MK Ultra as well) but we clearly succeeded better than Karl Marx or Trotsky so we essentially have won the ideal war. There is only one idea, and it is personal liberty. There is no country with more people who love liberty than the good old USA. Just because we have morally defunct leaders and a stupified population and a dearth of lawyers/judges/admins who are serving the Corporate anti-human forces of the Industrial Revolution does not mean liberty has died! There will be a new and wonderful America. We will overcome the mind kontrol TV broadcasts and media shields and when we do, we will still have the same flag, because it has ALWAYS stood for liberty. This recent police-state mentality is a phase and it will have no traction with the future. God bless the USA, because we all love liberty, though the Protocols say that through liberty the bankers will destroy us, I believe liberty mixed with frugality will defeat their scheme! |
