Stars are people (those who lead others to righteousness (see Daniel-last chapter) Angels are messengers..not usually winged creations from heaven (angels in midheaven preaching repentence..(from Book of Revelation)-angels don't preach so midheaven must be a consecrated spiritual state. These are Servants of God who hear from God and speak it forth.

Had to add a physical possibility to the spiritual interpretation..close planet flybys could have wreaked havoc in ancient times if the orbits we know today wasn't settled. Lightning from the electromagnetic interaction might explain a lot of catastrophic events and the worship of planets as gods.
