Are there any computer music creation/producer/composers that can answer me a question?

Do you mean VST instrument?

There's Slayer for a more rock/metal type sound.

And Musiclab RealGuitar for a more traditional sound.

Both are great. I use them all the time.

What you need is Gigastudio. It has tons of real guitar samples, with various techniques so you can compose like it was a real guitar player (takes a lot of time and effort to do so, it's hard to imitate the feel of a real string instrument player). Besides, Gigastudio doesn't come with guitar libraries, you have to buy one separately and they cost a lot.
Other than that, if you DO have a guitar/guitar player but don't have a good mic/amp, you can get Guitar Rig. It sounds great for a demo/small production but it emulates amps and effects only, not guitars.

Hope that helps!

Oh, I forgot. If you use Gigastudio as a standalone, you can't write MIDI, you have to fire it via a keyboard/MIDI instrument. It only works with pre-written MIDI if you use it as Rewire with a multitrack soft as host (such as Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, etc.)

Isn't gigastudio dead? I mean, didn't they fold and go out of business? It used to be a great sampler but it got so bulked out and took so much overhead that people stopped using it when Kontakt became standardized...at least that was my impression. Everything is Kontakt compat. now, it seems like..

For strumming, used to be Steinberg Virtual Guitar; would translate keyboard into a more authentic sounding rhythm/strum.

But here's something you might want to look at; the Digitar from Charlie Labs. No longer manufactured, but you can pick one up on eBay for about $200 American. It is basically an electric guitar with a MIDI interface but no neck. You strum or pick the six very short strings while playing chords on your keyboard.

But, seriously, I'd go for a good VST and suffer through hours of tweaking, adding in all those whammys and pull-offs and hammer-ons and so on and so forth by hand. Easier to do it right, though, if you at least have an idea how guitar is played (even if you can't play at speed).

And if you've planned things right, you can slip in some Twiddly Bits or actual samples...if you can seamlessly join from a sample of a real guitarist doing some trick, to the VST playing your melodic line, you can get convincing indeed.

(A MIDI musician who has been teaching himself recorder, crumhorn, and ukulele to get away from just those sorts of problems).

or you could just hire a studio guitar player.. they need the cash more than the software companies.

OP, I'm not much of a guitar player and I use Yamaha QY sequencers for everything. All the guitar work here is canned samples run through effects. . .

It's definitely do-able. There's prolly lots of good patches out there (though I dunno where you might find them).

I used a mixer once
Two tracks jammed together and I couldn't
Figure out how to fix it or anything else
The result was "The Hyena - Itonclads and Androids"
Or vice verse
But it ended up with like a chorus in the back ground
At the end, a sing'n " yeah yeah"

Where is my posting friend?
Hope it's a gal but its ok if not
