Message Subject What does this ringing in my ears mean?

It can mean several things:

1. It can mean your blood pressure is off the scale on the high end.

2. It could mean you have a sinus and/or ear infection and there is pressure building up behind the ear drum.

3. It could mean you have had recent exposure to a loud noise. BTW most of us now days are exposed daily to loud noises, enough to cause perpetual ear ringing.

4. It could mean you have ear drum damage.

5. It could be the song of the nerves that connect your ear to your brain dying.

6. It could be Tinnitus which can have any of the causes above or be caused by something we have yet to discover.

However, tinnitus can be a symptom of almost any ear problem, including ear infections, foreign objects or wax in the ear, and injury from loud noises. Alcohol, caffeine, antibiotics, aspirin, or other drugs can also cause ear noises since these can affect blood pressure and also hydration. Dehydration can cause ear ringing if the vessels and tissues in and around the ear canal get dried out they deform leading to interesting pressures which the nerves pick up and signal the brain as white noise or a 'ringing'.

Most of the people here who complain of occasional ear ringing attribute it to HAARP, however I suspect that they are dehydrated since so many here tend to drink alcohol and large amounts of caffeine which leads to dehydration.
