Anyone know of a cure for "shellfish" allergy

I've never heard of anyone overcoming seafood allergies!

The annoying thing is how they come from nowhere.

I was having dinner with a friend one night. He had a shrimp cocktail...minutes later I was rushing him to the hospital. He developed his allergy out of thin air.

Nope. Had shellfish allergy since I was young. Was at a party once, the host served pan-fried noodles with beef and a rice stir-fry--she didn't tell me there were tiny shrimp cooked into the rice...had to leave the party, but not before ruining the bathroom floor around her toilet.

My spring allergies have disappeared after I did the Beck protocol for 40 days. I did this 4 years ago, and no more allergies.

If the allergy is not fatal then the cure is to simply eat more of them until you're desensitized.

That is how mine showed itself, not as severe. I spent years eating shrimp and I did however notice they tend to cause a stomach ache. About 2 years after I first noticed the stomach issue with shrimp I ate a large plate of crawfish etouffe, man was it good, and I was find until later that night. The next day after taking literally a bottle of Benadryl I was still covered in hives went to the hospital and they hit me with some injectable Benadrhl and epinephrine and with in literally a minute my hives were fading and completely gone in less than 10 minutes.

I too have a shellfish allergy. I think I got it from my father, he has it as well.

I first learned about my allergy when I was 10 and we went Red Lobster. I had to be rushed to the hospital because my throat was swelling shut. They gave me the Epi-pen.

I went on vacation with my fiance(now husband) and his parents. We went to a seafood restaurant. I ate a hushpuppy. They must have cooked the hushpuppies with something shellfish. ONE hush puppy later, I was SO sick. I scared His parents to death. Luckily, I had a Epi-pen with me, so I was o.k.

I am so particular when I go out to eat at a restaurant that serves seafood. They always seem mad when I ask them to cook my food separately. I don't care though.

I have severe allergy to shellfish & iodine, no cure. Becareful with products that are designed to work like iodine but are made for people with these allergies, im actually more allergic to the product designed for me than the iodine.

also heard that doing a liver cleanse will help with some auto immune issues.

Can't help ya with the lobster but they do have imitation crab meat that isnt real bad. Nothing like real crab but hey, it better than nothing.

BTW: I am allergic to lobster and crab also.

When I was newly married, I had some major dental work done and my husband (bless his heart) came home with wonton soup which he lovingly fed me in bed. It was shrimp wonton soup. That's when he learned the important little detail that I am allergic to shellfish.

He was just horrified when my face blew up like a balloon and my throat began closing!

BTW, if you are allergic to shellfish, you must also avoid IODINE.

Build tolerance slow...I rubbed a shell on my wrist...then on lips...inside of lips...tongue...chewed a tiny bit and spat out...ate tiny bit...over a period of 6 months, I could eat shrimp and crabs...

Use extreme caution if you are violently allergic...during my whole time I kept a epi pen and antihistamines handy...

FOR REAL!!! When I had a C-section with my first baby, I told the surgeon I had a iodine allergy. He wrote it one the front of my chart, but apparently the surgery staff couldn't read....they used betadine on my back as a skin prep before the spinal block.

He came in after to do the surgery and freaked out when He saw what was on my back. It was too late by then...anesthesia had already done the block. He chewed their asses hard.

4 hours later, I had a systemic reaction...complete with full body hives.

Nice way to enjoy your first baby, huh?

i think i'll try the slow recovery process a little exposure at a time. When i broke out i had used tiger sauce, later i used it and started to itch. Ive been to afraid to try shellfish again.

Yeah , don't eat them . Don't you know that they are an abomination anyway ???

This is exactly right.

Most allergies are in fact due to your liver being loaded with stones. You will need to pass approximately 2000 stones out of your liver to be free and clear of your shellfish allergy. Will it take a while? Yes. Is it worth it, that is up to you.

Eat as much as you can in one sitting and it will be cures permanently.:)

Shellfish allergy is different that sinus allergies and can be fatal. Anaphylactic shock will kill you and no there is no cure.

I used to have shellfish allergies. One shrimp, bite of crab or lobster and blam, my lips would swell up, hives, throat swells and gets all itchy, etc. etc.. would always have benedryl at the ready and epi-pens too.

I missed seafood too after 10 years or so, so I tried it at the beach last time, nothing.. Been eating it since... nothing, just tastes like heaven with butter on it...


Allergies can be weird, mine just dissapeared but I'm aware it could come back at any time.

Don't eat it.
