dna is not made of light. dna is deoxyribonucleic acid. it is a polymer of nucleotides. a nucleotide is a deoxyribose molecule (the 2' carbon has an H instead of OH) with one of 4 nitrogenous bases attached to the 1' carbon atom and a phosphate group attached to the 5' carbon. nucleotides connect to each other with phosphodiester bonds between the 5' end of one nucleotide and the 3' end of another.
All matter is energy.

What is DNA made of?
