Here are common-sense warnings about our common census about to begin:

Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson urges state residents to avoid falling prey to scam artists intent on stealing your identity who may pose as U.S. Census workers.

Approximately 134 million households will be mailed census forms on March 1. The form includes 10 questions about your age, date of birth, race and whether you own or rent a home. It does not ask for your Social Security number or information about your taxes or income.

If you do not return a completed census form by April 1, it is likely that a census taker will either call or come to your door to obtain the information.

Bronson is urging residents to observe the following safety tips:

Do not provide your Social Security number or any financial information, including credit card or bank account information, to anyone claiming to represent the U.S. Census Bureau.

Never invite a census taker into your home.

All census takers carry official government badges.

Census workers are supposed to provide you with a letter from the Census Director on official letterhead.

The Census Bureau will not contact you by e-mail, so any website that pops up disguised as a census survey is fraudulent. The Census Bureau does not solicit information over the Internet. hiding

just reviewed the form...what is the reason for asking your age AND your date of birth?

what is the reason for listing each NAME of person residing in household?

I recently saw Inglourius Bastards...the German SS oficer had a book that detailed the name of each person residing at specific households.

I don't know man... But i've had it with co-operating.. I'm drawing a line in the sand... I'm telling them nothing..I'm sure I will end up on a list... but i don't even care anymore... Everything is destroyed for the near future anyway.. no point in co-operating.....

Really? Why?

The census is one of the few things required in the Constitution. Are you anti-Constitution? (Your right as an American to be anti-anything you want as long as it does not break a law. And sometimes even if it does!)

Why resist being counted in a legal fashion that has, so far, NEVER been used for nefarious ends by the government? Especially since it is mainly used to generate statistics and voting districts?

If this information is used against you directly, you have a huge law suit, possible movie deals and a good story to tell later...

If they do only what has always been done, then it is fairly harmless.

Do as you will of course, I am simply asking if you have a specific, real reason for not taking part in being counted, which is what the census really is.

Well, how are they suppose know how old you are just off your birth date?

Oh, wait...

lmao

Maybe I will give mine to them in days, or some other creative way via this calculation.

the purpose, as stated in the constitution:
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Number… The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.

A simple head count will do the trick just nicely. No other collection of information is authorized by the constitution.

Never been used for nefarious purposes you say? I bet the Japanese Americans have a different point of view on that.

The only question I will answer is the total # of people living in my household.

Any questions presented will result in that answer only.

Re: I guess the census worker will be knocking on my door***
we wll fill in the form an mail it.. we ignore strangers at our door according to police Chief Advice..so as to avoid all possible ugly confrantations with any possible strangers . Our rule is that our company calls before stopping by. . we do not answere doors to any strangers at our highrise .. ..families use slide bolts to defeat pass key thieves.. and lock pickers who break into condos apts and houses, quielty while people sleep or at work and No Sign Of Forced Intry was detected by cops from the pass key thieves who had worked on apt or condo units previously or lived thier before or were lock picker burglars .. only slide bolts kept them out .. beware u are reponsable for your family cause your managers will not save you from with flimsy out of date current dead bolts locks.
