webe 12/08/2005 10:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can recall they said I a quake was to happen there. That the Saint lawernce river would change directions. Flooding on a massive scale. |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY, which is just below Lake Ontario. These smaller lakes range in elevation from ~500 to 1000 ft above sea level. Ever since childhood IŽve had this reoccurring dream of the lakes being flooded suddenly by something like a tsunami wave. In my dream I was safe in the hills between the lakes at about 1500 ft above sea level though. That would have to be one hell of a wave/quake/pole-shift/whatever! |

Anything thats a 9 or a 9+ only has happened at subduction zones. Even the San Andreas cant generate more than 8 or a little over. I mean yeah theres the NY-AL Lineament, but thats billions of years old and has not moved since the Atlantic was made. We can expect 6's and 7's here but those are RARE. Dont get me wrong I live right next to the ramapo fault, 6's and 7's have happened on it and around the NY area. 8's might of happened millions of years ago on the east coast, but keep in mind continental drift. Secondly, Califonia ISNT going to fall of!!! Its a STRIKE SLIP FAULT it moves SIDEWAYS, obviously that movie 2012 has given people more false illusions then thought. If youre gonna talk about disasters why dont you talk about ones that people already know are gonna happen. Cascadia subduction zone, san andreas fault, or Indonesia. I hate to rain on youre parades but damn I keep seeing all these crazy claims of 9.0's on the east coast and its retarded for me to let these insane claims go on any further. If the being called God is really speaking through any of you and youre right then Ill admit that I was mistaking, but Ive done my homework and this is what REAL science showed me. |
