FAQ which I'm sure would apply to any type of frozen turkey, not just Butterball (personally I do fresh brined) -

For those that may have forgotten to take your turkey out to thaw:
Yes, you can safely cook a frozen Thanksgiving turkey — but with a few restrictions. Keep these factors in mind when cooking a frozen Thanksgiving turkey:

Cooking method. You can cook the bird in the oven, but don't grill, smoke, microwave or deep-fry a frozen Thanksgiving turkey. Grilling and deep-frying use higher temperatures that will quickly cook and char the bird on the outside but leave the inside undone or only partially cooked, increasing the risk of foodborne illness. Smoking generally uses temperatures that are too low and take too long for the frozen turkey to fully cook, also increasing the risk of food poisoning. Microwaving also isn't a safe option because it cooks a frozen bird unevenly. Oven bags aren't recommended for frozen turkeys because they can be unsafe — at some point you will need to remove the giblets, and contaminated juices may be spilled or scalding steam can burn you.

NOTE: Turkey meat will be safely cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165° F; however, the meat may still be slightly pink. Some people prefer cooking turkey to a higher temperature (whole turkey to 180°F in the innermost part of the thigh; turkey breasts to 170° F in the thickest part) for meat that is more well done.

Wow, I read about that yesterday...unbelievable...from your link:

The Food Stamp Challenge, which challenges higher-income families to live as if they are on food stamps, estimates that a person on food stamps has a budget of about $1.25 per meal. In other words, a family on food stamps must buy an entire meal per person for less than the cost of an average cup of coffee.

Hmmm, because it varies by state, is it actually $1.25 per meal per person? That's $3.75 per day, which works out to $26.25 per week. On this thread I posted, the Newark mayor was saying $35 per week.

Thread: Newark Mayor Cory Booker agrees to live off food stamps for a MONTH

That's a bit of a difference...

Nice. I'm only in charge of the pies this year. I'm making a pumpkin, a blueberry, and a black bottom pie all from scratch this morning.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

LOL...years ago I nuked a turkey. I just entered in how much it weighed and selected a combination of convection and microwave and it came out great! Perfectly brown and didn't dry out at all.

G.L.P. Turkey Recipe !

I thought this sounded good! Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the
use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that. When I found this
recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure
how to tell when turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give his a
try.

8 - 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT IS BEST) Salt/pepper
to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter,
salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.
After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.
When the turkey's rear end blows the oven door open and the bird flies
across the
room,.... it's done!!

And, you thought I didn't know how to cook...

Kiss slowly,
Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably,

And never regret anything that made you smile.

I'm on foodstamps (EBT), and I get $6.66 a day to spend on food. I just did the math, $200month/30 days.

Okay, so we usually have 31 days in a month, and also, I have no idea how much I eat in a days worth, but that is interesting, lol

Butter Ball turkeys are being recalled.

After further investigation, they found out that the balls of the turkeys indeed were NOT being buttered.

I can't believe this is important to anyone.

Following outdated, sheeple traditions.

And how could ANYONE enjoy a meal of Butterball turkey after the reports recently that some Butterball employees ABUSE the turkeys before they MURDER them . . . sheer insanity.

Mankind . . . what an oxymoron.

Cheesy Mashed Potatoes.

Prep and boil just like you would plain mashed taters.

Instead of milk - use sour cream.
Add your butter.
(I also add garlic and little fresh dill)

Mash and then whip w/ blender on low or medium.

Once you get the consistency you want - add some grated cheese and stir in.

Transfer to casserole dish and top w/ grated cheese. Cover and put back in oven till cheese is melted.

There is never any of these left no matter how much I make.
