I agree that this story raises a red flag for me in that it sounds like propaganda. I'm not opposed to very early abortions. I understand it is difficult to pinpoint the time that life begins, at least for us all to agree on that time. I think we could do a better job with the entire subject of reproduction. Certainly by the time a fetus is independently viable it should be protected. If this story is true then it is horrific!

Christians who claim the Bible is GOD's inerrant word and claim the Pro life high ground have massive problems contained in their Bibles.

It is difficult to argue GOD is pro-life if you follow the Bible and accept GOD allowed atrocities. Sorry if this offends but it comes directly from the Bible.

How many of the women who had known a man were "with child" when this atrocity occurred?

This is an absolutely true story and not the first time Gosnell did something so horrific. In the seventies he "invented" a screw type of device meant to make abortions in the second trimester easier. It killed a woman and gave several others infections. He only used it in one day when he performed abortions on poor women who were in their second trimester as a publicity stunt.

Most abortionists will not perform abortions after 24 weeks and even then it is uncommon. Gosnell's story is not typical but most abortion clinics are extremely dirty and unprofessional. Most doctors have been sued or needed money and couldn't get it done the mainstream way so they do abortions. Gosnell was a millionaire after all. I am wondering if he was half black and half Jewish.

The Old Testament is a book written during the time of the 'great patriarchs' as many in the Christian church will describe this time period.

It was the time of about 5,0000- 4,000 BC

Women in society were absolutely looked at as second or sometimes third class citizens and it is also written from a MALE Jewish cultural perspective.

This shines more light on how people thought.

Men were looked at as better than women ; a woman was substandard to a man.

Many cultures, as I am sure you already know, have this mindset today.

These are stories intended for some kind of 'spiritual' teaching and to be honest;
I really never knew what some of them were trying to teach.

I personally , like the New Testament. It is not so 'ancient' in its portrayal of human relationships and the relationship with God.
