Taking control of your own destiny to the end
As one gets older, and undergoes progressive ego death. The systems of this planet, the illusions that veil them, wear thin. The conditioning of culture fades. Favorite past times, hobbies, interests die as the underlying substrate of its bones lay bare. So what of it then, as one spirals toward the inevitable end, should it be on ones own terms. Waiting for cancer, for the death panels, sudden death or car accident, the curse of old age, the desolation of infinite loneliness, and dementia. Waiting for the scenario to play out.

Blown about like a leaf on the winds of chance - is this not the bane of the self aware singularity. It s lawful to end it when and how according to one's true will. We are slaves cradle to grave, feeding on and fed on like a parasitic vampire cluster fuck in this infernal cosmos. Its the one thing we can actually control. Even as it is 'illegal', assuming success, who gives a fuck of the laws of men, when freedom lies beyond.

Isn't destiny, by definition, uncontrollable?

In terms of fate and destiny, in the eternal chaos, I would say yes. There are things in the illusion we think we control.

Feel like it sometimes, but then who is it that's blown about if ego death has occurred?

Therein lies the paradox, which cannot be solved in our dual reality. However the difference is, letting it 'play out' on the whim of chance, or pre-ordained against your spiritual will, to take control yourself. Then again, that is also destiny, and here we are in the loop again.

I suppose it is the remnants of the automaton that remain. It still exists with varying degrees of conscious awareness, I don't think it can be completely eradicated as long as the vessel is intact, as infinitely minuscule as it may be.
