Birthmarks?
I've scoured the net looking for the significance of birthmarks...but I really didn't see anything that dinged my ~TRUTH~ bell...

Some folks believe birthmarks are a sign of karmic debt. Others believe it can be a mark of death from your last life.

I'm not sure I believe any of those things but I would like to hear GLPers thoughts and musings on the matter.

I will just add, I DO NOT have a birthmark, neither does my son.

Anyone else with no birthmark?

Anyone want to share their esoteric knowledge of birthmarks?

TIA ;)

Re: Birthmarks?
I noted that myself, hubby, children have the same birthmark which is a mole on our right side near the area where the ribs bend. I always thought, this was where the spear pierced Jesus through. But hubby has no jew in him. So makes me wonder. The mole thing must be genetic. If you have no moles at all then its good thing. I assummed having moles meant we were linked to Africans in some way too as in thousands of years ago.

I'm under the belief they are scars from past lives; I've got them all over, not in unhealthy way either; honestly looks like you can count the ways I've been killed.

2 on the adam's apple, one above my lip, one on the side of my face. My back looks like I've been whipped pretty much everytime I've walked the earth and they still practiced such things.

Did you know in some of the Asian cultures if a woman was in threat of being captured and than inturned raped by rivaling clan the woman would take a sword and end her life to spare her body from her attackers.

Have you ever seen the Bruce Lee flick when they bad guys get to his sister before he does?

I'll take a pic of my torso if you wanna see the moles on the front.

Re: Birthmarks?
In our culture, we put a mark on the deceased to identify them in their next life.

When my brother died, they put a mark on a very specific location on his body.

I was born after he died, and had a prominent birthmark at the exact same location they marked him.

The birthmark supposed to be in the place which was the point of the cause of your death in your previous life. No birthmarks could mean natural death or first incarnation. I of course, don't know if this is true but interesting thread, so I'm giving you 5*****'s and pin suggestion. Would like to hear others opinion.

Thanks.

I've been thinking about this off and on for awhile now. I really wanted to hear from GLPers about this topic. Mainly because GLPers are geniuses in their own special way :) lol...you know what I mean, one poster could be living in their moms basement in Idaho and the next could be some professor from university, ya just never know on GLP.

May I ask which way your beliefs fall? I will share that I'm just not sure at this point...I think I can remember how I died in my last life, as well as previous lives...I've been shot before so if the whole "Birthmarks signify how you died in a previous life" is correct, why don't I have a birthmark on my chest?

I just don't know? Nothing sounds right to me yet...maybe they really are just a lump of over-active cells...?

Re: Birthmarks?
IMO, moles and birthmarks are completely different.

A mole is excessive pigment and keratinisation, genetically produced sometimes, sometimes not.
A mole is a 'safe' cancer - and is the reason why we're told to keep an eye on them if they change as they could easily turn into a not so safe skin cancer.

Birth marks are flat random shapes on the body that are generally a darker tone than the natural skin colour.
They never change, and are rarely raised above the skin (except 'strawberry' birth marks).

I don't know the meaning - i've always wondered. I also read it was about past lives...it's intriguing as where i have mine, if they were wounds then they would be severing major arteries causing death.
My boyfriend and i both have 1 at the nape of our necks and mid lower back.
I have a massive one on my inner thigh that's the exact shape of Ireland - where i eventually moved to!

Perhaps they are portents of what is to come rather than signs of past death?

This!!! a mole is not a birthmark...

I have both..
My Aunti (dad's side) has the same moles and fairly close locations as I do, my uncle(dad's side) also has them but on the opposite side and he is a lefty, we are righties..

But, I have birthmarks and they do not! There is one on my leg looks like Orion with a brown background and there is a mole (this my Aunt and uncle do not have this mole)just outside of it, that is 3 different colors..

I am not sure what I believe as to why some have birthmarks and others do not.. My 3 kids and I share a similar birthmark, but in different places.. an Triangle about 4 inches long and 3 inches wide, they show up in the Summer months after exposure to the Sun.

Maybe they are a Cosmic type of branding-LOL

Re: Birthmarks?
Interesting ideas on this thread....
It caused me to start googling and I came across this tidbit.

"The number of moles a person has was found to have a correlation with telomere length.[8] The length of telomeres may be of significance in the ageing process. But the relation between telomeres and aging remains uncertain.[9]"

From here, under 'signs and symptoms'
[link to en.m.wikipedia.org]

I'm not really sure how it relates to your original query about birthmarks.
I'm not sure that moles technically qualify as birthmarks.
But I thought it was interesting and so I'm sharing....
