Gina Rinehart Falls Down Stairs at The Horses

Gina Rinehart attracted almost as much attention for her exit as she did for her arrival at the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, by stumbling down the stairs of the Emirates marquee just as Almandin crossed the winners post.

In front of only a few onlookers, Rinehart was leaving the marquee about 2.30pm, possibly to watch the race elsewhere, when she appeared to lose her footing on the way down the carpeted stairs.

Her minders rushed to her side and tried to block anyone from getting a photo of the incident, which only lasted a few seconds.

As her closest aides, including new attache Sophie Mirabella, helped her up after the tumble, Australia's richest woman was seen cradling her head with one hand, her designer sunglasses and lipstick in the other.
