You are either too young to remember epic impersonaters/ comedians who performed by IMPERSONATING many different characters on platforms like "The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson era, Wolfman Jack's "The Midnight Special", etc. into present day...

The impersonation is real, and Hader is good at it. But someone took the footage and applied a software trick to put Arnies facial features on Haders face during the parts where he is impersonating him.

Before the bit about schwazeneggar started his face started to morph into arnolds face like he was preparing (it's scripted so he knew) then his face morphed back to normal at the end. Crazy

It was already an excellent impression by Hader.

It's like when the guy shown on TV as R. Parker morphed from a laughing actor into a caring parent as he discussed 'losing' his child.

This has been one of my favorite late night TV interviews for years! Have come back to this one several times.

exactly!!! for the anon above saying it was 'creepy uncanny' - you are exactly right....the reason it was so uncanny is because it was video manipulation software that was being used to achieve the effect.....the reason it looks so much like Schwarzenegger's face is because it IS Schwarzenegger's face....


To boil it down to its simplest form, at its core this is really just the same "copy and paste" process that tons of computer users do every day. If you take a digital image, select a portion of it, and "cut" it, and then open up a completely new different image and "paste" the cut section onto it....This is EXACTLY the same process that is used here, except it's just a much more complicated version of it, it's working with video instead of still pictures, and it utilizes machine learning.

as other posters noted, this is technology that most any kid today can achieve on their phone....it's just software.....technology at work

but this particular youtube poster seems to have fully mastered it to a very high level....the end result is quite impressive

And the fact that it was an excellent impersonation of Arnie to start with.

yup Hader is amazing....for me personally his Al Pacino impersonation is one of the best there is....and that Pacino deepfake video genuinely creeped me out just a little bit lol : )

for any of the folks still convinced it's not video technology, this video will clear it all up - it explains the technology and how it's done.....

Clearly faceswap software is being used. And it isnt even done well.
