That's ridiculous considering that that internet has already been taken over by big corporations that are now putting so many ridiculous, Orwellian restraints on us and censoring our speech that it's no different from China.

You're going under the ludicrously false premise that the internet is still a public square for the free exchange of ideas and nobody should mess with that. It's not. It's now one virtual penitentiary where everyone is censored, controlled, spied upon and enslaved.
