I worked as a volunteer poll monitor in 2016. Yes, there are multiple observers from each party there and the paper ballots are counted twice. The results are then tallied, verified by both observers and sealed.

I don't know anything about voting machines, but they do not have any kind of paper trail.

If covid-19 had never come along, Trump had a chance but he his performance under pressure has been terrible. AND he's failed to deliver on many accounts.
