Just got back from a weekend chaperoning 88 high school marching band kids for a competition. One of the nights there was a special ceremony where the band director had each kid, one at a time, take a plastic gem out of a satchel and go give it to someone in the band that had meant something to them during the year. It could´ve been someone who´d challenged their personality, or required more of them than they thought they could give . . .anyone that made them grow as a person. This ´ceremony´ was done in complete quiet and ended up being quite touching, with hugs and tears. Brought the kids closer together.
So back to my initial question,
Who here on GLP has stretched you as a person, where you learned merely by interacting with them, positive or negative, and whom you would present a ´GEM´ to?
