[quote:Nancy Lieder:MV8xMDQ4MDg3XzE2NjM3NDEzXzJCQ0Y1N0Iw] Since you'all arguing away here on this thread are keeping it on the front page, let me pose my question HERE as well. Here's my post on Eccentricity, which is getting ignored. Yes, it’s me, Nancy of ZetaTalk, with another issue. The Zetas make me struggle for the answer so I can be on the same page to translate what they hand to me, and at times it is a struggle. I was on GLP with a question about Mercury the other day http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1048087/pg1 displaying my ignorance and making a fool of myself to get the answers because someone someplace asked why Mercury was missing from the SOHO images if it was in transit. Got my answers. Very low magnitude (which is expressed as a high number on the charts) so can’t be seen. I was also asking about Venus, which many, many people seem perturbed about this past week, since April 21 when it first showed up on COR2 of Stereo Ahead. It is apparently appearing on Stereo Ahead images coming right to left approaching the Sun – seemingly too FAR to the right at this time (though this is debatable for some) but here’s my question: Is its eccentricity too high? Earth is on the Ecliptic at Eccentricity of .0167 Venus is even more on the Ecliptic at Eccentricity of .0068 By contrast, Pluto has a highly eccentric orbit at Eccentricity of .250 Now, checking where the orbits are expected to place the planets via this link: http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/Solar and comparing it to the chart of expected transits visible via SOHO at this site: http://sungrazer.nrl.navy.mil/index.php?p=transits/transits_2010 I find that Venus was expected to be BEHIND the Sun in January, 2010 and in FRONT of the Sun in October, 2010. Jan01-Feb10 Venus -3.9mag Right to Left (behind Sun) Oct27-Nov01 Venus -4.0mag Left to Right (in front of Sun) :January201: Presumably, given the slight eccentricity of both Earth and Venus, and assuming they would both be in their correct positions in a real (or simulated) orbit arrangement, I step back to find Venus on the SOHO images in late October, early November of 2009. Oct25-Nov15 Venus ??mag Right to Left (behind Sun) :Venus2009: Now, if everytime there is a transit or conjunction or whatever it is called when it is visible in SOHO, it shows up either AT the height of the Sun or ever so slightly above it or mostly well below it, from the view of SOHO. Then why it is so darn HIGH, above the Sun, in the current COR2 images? Would this be the correct eccentricity for Earth/Venus combined assuming they are in their anticipated orbits and all (either real or simulated)? :VenusCLaim: This issue has been raised before. http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1045914/pg3 It also seems, this unknown entity is not in the line of orbit, where Venus would normally be. Much too high above the Sun. And no, I’m not claiming this is Planet X, as those who snicker would like to say. THAT shows up nicely on SOHO and Stereo but not looking like a planet moving right to left, etc. It has a drifting tail, etc. http://www.zetatalk.com/index/zeta550.htm
Mercury is supposed to be making a transit, according to official sites:

Transits of Objects through the LASCO/C3 field of view (FOV) in 2010
Jan01-Jan07 Mercury +3.1mag Left to Right
Mar07-Mar22 Mercury -1.8mag Right to Left
Apr23-May03 Mercury +4.0mag Left to Right
Yet it is NOT showing up on C3! Images from other transits show it present from the first day of transit to the last, even when at a lesser magnitude that the current passage.
