Original Message Why is the best military in the world using a POS M4 rifle that is pretty much inferior to a 1949 designed AK47? Why did the US military trade in the M14 for the crappy M16? What were they thinking? Is this just political corruption that the US can't use a better rifle today?

Major issue is that the AK47 used by the Taliban can out shoot (distance) a US M4. Not to mention the AK is far and away more reliable.
