[quote:Anonymous Coward 110639:MV8xMDgzMzRfNTU1NTcyNF82QUYwQTQ1Mg==] [quote:Overseas Expat 183110] Now the boat is in the year what we call 2007. This year will see, stormy waters... Thank you Gaia Man, for exposing the fraudulent posters trying to fool the viewers here. Your visions are too important to be ruined by those who would discredit you by posting their own predictions in your name. I realize that you can only post the visions that are shown to you by your guide - and cannot deliver visions to order, so to speak, but there are many of us out here that realize where this boat may be headed, and are thinking about what to do to prepare. Here are my speculations about what might happen in the near term - but if you have any visions that would shed light on these guesses of mine, please don't hesitate to fill in or correct the picture: If and when the US attacks Syria, the Syrians probably won't be able to cause much damage in retaliation, except for heightened terrorist attacks against Israel, and maybe Britain, the US and Australia. Iran is a whole 'nuther story, however. If, as Gaiaman predicts, Iran attacks US forces in Iraq in response to a US invasion of Syria - the whole Persian Gulf will be impacted. The US will then have a reason to attack nuclear sites throughout Iran, and will quickly do so. But Iran has a stranglehold on the Persian Gulf - where 40% of the world's oil supply comes from. There is a very narrow chokepoint at the exit of the Persian Gulf called the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran's seacoast faces that entire strait. Iran has dozens, maybe hundred of anti-ship missiles lined up along their coast - capable of sinking ships in the Strait and thereby closing it off. All it takes is one big fat tanker sunk in the 2-mile wide navigable channel to completely close the entire Gulf to oil shipments. If that happens, the entire world will be impacted. Oil is the lifeblood of industrial civilizations, and without it, the intricate infrastructures we've all come to depend on to deliver our food, water and other necessities comes to a sputtering halt. The big oil importing nations will be the most severely affected, which are the US, Japan, China, Germany and South Korea - which are major economic powerhouses that the rest of the world depends on to keep the whole world's industrial infrastructure functioning. A cutoff amounting to 40% of world oil exports would spell catastrophe to economies around the world. How it would play out on the local level is a lot harder to figure though. Would there be rationing of food and water? Mass layoffs and factory shutdowns? No gasoline for cars and little heating oil? Riots? Then martial law? First off, I'd imagine our whole consumerist economic focus would be severely cramped, as Playstations and 100-inch HDTV's accumulate on docksides undelivered, and many of us might think that would be a good thing. However, a lot of our economic livelihoods come from the production and provision of silly consumerist crap, and the sudden loss of jobs and consumer goods associated with this economic sector could lead to societal disintegration, especially in large metropolitan areas (as with Katrina). Maybe this is why Gaia Man has been so adamant in getting people everywhere to store food and water NOW, even though most of us might be thinking about local natural disasters being the main reason to do so. Gaiaman mentioned that the Great War would start out as a religious war, and would then end up as a war over resources - and that fits very well with these speculations. The economic disasters brought out by this mideast religious conflict forces the realization on all nations that resources are critical to all nations wherever they are - and that they're going to have to fight for them. What to do? Where to run? Would any US metropolitan area be safe? To the countryside? Buy Gold, Gasoline and Guns and duke it out with marauders like in some nightmare Mad Max movie? Run to Canada - and hole up in the frozen tundra until it all blows over? Or continue with our routines, hope for the best, and have faith that the government will sort it all out? We've now gotten to the hard part. Up until now, it's been easy to believe the visions that were predicted to happen in this timeframe, since none were globally disastrous enough to affect the vast majority of us - an earthquake here, a terrorist attack there, a tsunami over there - but now, it looks like the next big event, the Great War, could bring disaster to all of us. How many of us believe these visions enough to make significant changes in our lives in order to prepare? I'll be honest. I haven't changed much of anything. Part of me thinks that this is all so disastrous, unpleasant, and downright metaphysical, that I don't want to believe it, so therefore I won't. I know how irrational that is, but most people did that right up to WWI and WWII, so it seems to be a pretty natural response. I somehow believe that I can wait until the last moment, and if and when it all comes down, I can hop on a plane - fly halfway around the globe back to New England and then hunker down in some faraway hills to wait it all out. But I'm very curious to know what other viewers are thinking and doing at this point.
