Original Message Here's my cases for both:

hive minds are superior

Civilization and culture would probably be impossible without a hive mind. Insects and certain animals almost certainly couldn't function efficiently without a hive mind.

individuals are superior

If it wasn't for individuals we'd probably still be in the stone age. Individuals are the great inventors, artists, and intellectuals who are capable of real innovation and insight. I don't think hive minds are capable of real innovation or insight.
