Original Message I am hesitant to post in that other thread as it appears to have degenerated into a gang bash and totally derailing from the subject of the light, whatever the light is.

I stated yesterday that I would try and find a compass so I could get a direction for the light.

It is currently 6.31 pm and that star is shinning brightly at slightly north east... Dunno how to give you the precise heading, but the needle when I am facing the light is just slightly past the north towards the east.

So there is the direction from my view point in Hawkes Bay, North Island, New Zealand.

Could be Jupiter as someone stated last night. But I definitely know it is not venus, mars, or the space station going overhead.

When orion's belt sets I will try and get a placement in regards to it.
