I have now reached a point where I am in favor of one-term politicians. Vote the incumbent out. Make it more expensive to OWN a politician. There are many fine professional politicians, and I hate it that it has come to the point where removing incumbeants is the best plan for recovering control so that "government by the people, for the people, of the people shall not perish from the earth." Government in America needs to be reminded that they are "deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
These citations are of course not mine and come from Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address in the first citation. The second quote is from the Declaration Of Independence. Good words which those governing once knew. I wonder how many in power today have actually ever read them?
