House Bill 393 would create the Parent Empowerment and Choice Act
More commonly referred to as the Parent Trigger Act. This would give parents three options to change how a school is run. A signed petition from at least 51 percent of the parents could force a school to close and reopen with new staff; force a school to close and reopen as a charter school or force school choice alternatives to be given if the school were to close and a charter school not be formed.
In addition, the bill states that any student who would attend the school under the educational choice option would receive a voucher to attend a private school or another public school.
........
A similar law is in effect in California.... how is it working for you out in California? It seem like it would cost the state/taxpayer a lot more money.
