[quote:Jerichofall:MV8xNTQ1MDI4XzI1NTM0MDcyXzQxRDI3NUJF] [quote:Levi 1438965] No time to watch the vid but the origin of the word "church" has to do with Circe and circles. The circle being a center of early worship ritual. Also the modern day name "Kirk" is derived from these origins.
Bingo. I'm not suggesting that we have to go as far as not uttering the name (!), but the idea of a fellowship/ congregation with an equal exchange of knowledge of God makes so much more sense than an institution where priests rack up a good living from service fees and tell everyone what they should believe. In the time of the Judges, God was King of Israel and that should never have changed :cool2:
This vid is really interesting and timely because there's lot of threads I've been reading at the moment by different denomination Christians chest beating about their 'brand'.
I'm pretty much 'self-schooled' although I know someone's been leading me to different places on the web to teach me, blessed be His name.
People don't need to get told by a man or woman who God is, you can learn who He is from Him if you are patient, willing to seek knowledge and wisdom from His Word and learn to listen to that 'still little voice' as many describe it. Once you learn to listen it's a great thing.
