Anyway, I hadn't looked into this in a while, but I mentioned him in a post I made yesterday, so I decided to look at something he wrote again.  The following is from the Tractates Cryptica Scriptura, Exegesis from the novel VALIS by Philip K. Dick 1981 - http://deoxy.org/pkd_tcs.htm

The plasmate was PKD's term for the holy spirit, I believe.

"22.  I term the Immortal One a plasmate, because it is a form of energy; it is living information. It replicates itself—not through information or in information—but as information.

Bruno suspected that the plasmate had been destroyed by the Empire; for hinting at this he was burned. "The Empire never ended."

I'm a non-denominational, Bible-believing Christian, and I believe Philip K. Dick leaned toward Gnosticism in his later years, so I don't agree with everything he writes here.  I'm not really saying I believe any of it, necessarily.  It's just that when I read this yesterday (after having not looked at it for years), I got major chills.  Not in a bad way.  I think the kind of brief euphoria that accompanies an epiphany.  But I don't really know what to think of this, so I thought I'd post about it and try to get some outside input.  I'd especially like to hear from those who have had similar experiences or encounters.
