OK, so everyone knows the 'official' story about comet Elenin.
In fact, NASA has a nice summary up right now on Stereo:

Article Quote:
"Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin discovered the comet last December at
International Scientific Optical Network's robotic observatory near Mayhill, New Mexico
."

PROBLEM - NEED HELP WITH THIS:
I find no such Observatory.
I have been through Mayhill, NM several times (AND IM GOING BACK IN A MONTH... SO WITH ANSWERS I COULD STOP BY!)
Mayhill is about the size of a Walmart (figuratively), and I have never seen signs pointing to some Observatory.
Listings for Observatories nation wide do not list "International Scientific Optical Network's robotic observatory"
as shown here:

There is an entry for something near Mayhill, but it appears to be (literally) a rent-a-telescope operation, and the name is quite off of the "official" name. On the site, they do not list credit for finding Elenin the comet or working with Elenin the astronomer.
Sooooo.... where the hell is this Observatory where the comet was discovered? IF found, I will be back there in a month... and could stop by easily. Would plan on talking to this astronomer (should he exist) or a colleague.
Thanks!
