Depression in correlation with the stesses of the Planet???????

I woke up today with an instant thought... (which is sometimes dangerous - lol)
Is the rise in the amount of depression found in people in any relation with what is going on with planet Earth???
Astrology signs are assigned earthly elements:
Fire - Aries , Leo, Sagittarius
Air - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Earth - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
I know that pharmo companies have a big sayso in the drugs that are handed out to the masses of people.
But I'm also wondering if depression is rising due to all the earthquakes, volcanos, poisonings of the air, water, land.
Does anyone know if there is any correlation here? Any other explanation? Or is the Poohster out in left field by herself again???
Any thoughts or comments gladly welcomed.
