[quote:LindaE:MV8xNjU4MDQxXzI3Mzk5MDk1XzY3RDdGNTIz] OP, I feel for your situation. But, if she's to the point where she'll never be functional again, then she's most likely ready to leave her body. That's very hard to say about your mother, but if you can do it, sit with her, hold her hand, and tell her softly that you are with her, and that it's OK for her to let herself slip away. You'll see her in heaven, and she'll be watching out for you from there for the nonce. [/quote]

My mum has Alzheimer's, she had a stroke 5 weeks ago, and then yesterday had a very bad one again. They've told us if anything 'happens' they won't resuscitate her, as her quality of life would be very poor. They say the strokes will become more frequent and more serious. I understand why they've said it. But i'm finding it hard to accept she may leave us shortly. She is one of the very few people i truly love and care for!! For selfish reasons i don't wanna be an 'orphan', we lost dad when i was only 30!! How does anyone deal with this??
