And WHY aren't their cars running on solar power?  o.O

My concept - have small wind turbines where the radiator is and in other wind gathering positions on the car, so as the car moves, the turbines spin and generate enough power to keep the car moving.   Then you have the thingies that gather up the braking energy (which I believe are used in some hybrids already).   Then, solar panels that cover the top parts of the cars to recharge the batteries.

I could see a need for a gasoline engine - for those of us who live in winter climates where the batteries and cold don't mix really well, and where solar is limited.

I really don't know why this combo isn't being done.  ::nods::
