Enron and the California train robbery

Although Enron is dead someone has taken their place.
The energy prices are being manipulated, it isn't because of the EPA or government. It is governments fault to the extent they are letting this robbery take place...
Using trading strategies dubbed "Death Star," "Ricochet" and "Fat Boy," Enron manipulated prices on a regular basis in late 2000 and early 2001 by shuffling energy around the West in a series of trades that ultimately jacked the price sky high, according to Enron documents released by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
California politicians long believed Enron and other energy companies caused the energy crisis by rigging prices. A study by CBS.MarketWatch.com last month showed how Enron charged more than twice what other companies did at the height of the energy crisis. These new documents show just how it did it.
And what of the politicians in Washington and the free-market, right-wing economists who argued that Davis was just whining and that it was California's tree-hugging environmental laws that caused the crisis? Wearing a bit of sap on their faces today, eh?
Bush and Cheney went so far as to use the crisis to push their energy agenda, saying it demonstrated how we needed more power plants and more energy deregulation to allow the energy industry to keep our lights on, of course at a fair market price for the providers..... Read rest at link above
